Market is bad and I think it gets worse. Also don't expect any kind of huge rally for quite some time.

YTD I'm -20.83%. Would be a lot better if I didn't have 25% in a leveraged 3x sp500 stock. That went from +40% to -22%. Haven't sold anything, gonna rideeeee it out.

Last summer I met with a financial advisor and they wanted me to move over $75k I had in cash to the market, I was like derp derp and only moved over $10k. Very happy about that. Also my savings account interest rate went from .4% to .6%. Yayyy lol.

this is such BS. index funds outperform in bull markets and they outperform even more so in bear markets. you or any fund manager are not going to suddenly become a better market timer or stock picker in a bear market. ludicrous.

I'm up about $200,000 over the last 2 months. Because I sold everything and bought puts. Now I'm doing short term puts with smaller amounts of money to try to scalp. Then when we hit a bottom, I'm investing it all again.

Gordon is right in general and Buffett would say that a short focus is not conducive to long profits. Huge volumes of money moves around every day, todays winner is tomorrow’s loser, etc etc

By the time this is over, it’s likely that they all go into a larger decline. If the S&P 500 comes down 30%, which I think is a possibility, then you’d be down to 3,460.”

Like they’re getting crushed now buying into meme stocks when the market couldn’t lose? Had they listened to the outdated advice, they’d only be down 10-20% rather than 50-60+.

You forget most people aren’t competent enough to read the signals or even understand the factors involved in investing. Most are best off DCA’ing into an index fund and forgetting about it until 5-10 years out of retirement.
