I think a lot of people fail to understand how busy the police can get in some cities. In 2022. In a post BLM riot/Defund the police world with everyone looking to second guess, question and fukk over officers. Manpower is simply down. A lot of places just need to double their man power, immediately. But it takes years to add enough people to make a difference.
I work 12 hour shifts. On a daily basis I am dispatched to about 18-25 calls in a 12 hour period. I drive to, investigate, resolve and document approximately 2 calls per hour. If its a more in-depth investigation/report with an arrest I can get about 60-90 minutes. Thing is, I handle about 3-5 of those more in depth reports per day.
This is going to sound F'd up but lets assume I responded to your wife's call. I take about 5-10 minutes to talk to people and find out what's going on. About 10-15 minutes to conduct 'investigation'/review any surveillance video. About 10-15 minutes to complete report. And about 10-15 minutes to actually search for/attempt to ID/issue a warrant for the suspect if he's gone. After that. I never even think about that case again.
I run across your wife 2 weeks later in Walmart I probably will notice she looks familiar but its really just hit or miss on if I remember what call I encountered her on. 6 months later I run across your wife in Walmart and we have a conversation and I don't even recognize her. She can ask me for an update on the 'investigation' and I'm not even sure WTF she's talking about without looking up a case number and reading the report.

Gotta be careful telling the police you plan on killing someone. I mean, I get it but anything you say can and will be used against you.

The only thing police give a fuk about are drugs (cause they steal them and sell it themselves) and drunk driving (because they make chit tons of money from this as well). They don't take anything else seriously

Democrats see them as people, not as criminals. BLM's ideas are very Marxist and part of their belief is that some people just are criminals, just can't follow the rules, but they are still people and it's wrong to try to imprison them for being who they are. So the idea is to make sure that most people walk the line, but accept those who don't. Just like London's Muslim mayor said terrorism is just apart of life. What BLM thinks is that their people will be able to just do as they please. Not quite, it will only go so far.
Eventually, people are going to realize that the police are useless and start taking the law into their own hands. Lynch mobs, you name it. Justice will be handed out by whoever is the alpha of the group. Who knows what will happen. Someone with status said you did it, it's done, and if they decide you need to die, you're dead, except how they will kill you, lots of possibilities there.

How many robbery reports have you taken? How many times have you heard people say, he had a weapon and when you ask them to describe and they can't. This matters in court and a defense attorney will tear them apart. He had a knife out outside, but did he have it out inside? He had something in his hand and he cut our tires outside so it MUST have been a knife. Guess what Johnny Cochran, that won't work in court most of the time and it's all about building a good case from the start. He very well could have had a knife, but I wasn't there, I don't know. Sometimes people don't remember everything accurately in the heat of the moment with adrenaline.
The fact that they didn't give him anything is going to get him off the robbery if he has a good lawyer. Robbery requires fear most of the time, but GA could have it worded differently. Hard to argue fear when you gave him nothing and he had a knife. If the prosecution can't establish fear he may just get a theft and vandalism. Just food for thought in the future.

Portland cops basically don't respond anymore to a lot of calls because they don't care to deal w/ POC, their BS and losing their jobs/going to prison for it.
I bet you're the first to call the cops when anything goes wrong, but still talk crap about them.

Yea the cops for the most part don't give a **** anymore. I live in IL near Chicago. Those guys are fukked so I can't blame them. However, in the suburbs by me, they spend more time on speed traps and giving people tickets than actually protecting or focusing on crime. That's why my area has so many gang bangers coming from chicago and stealing cars at gunpoint because nothing ever happens. This is also after we added 5 news cops from chicago police leaving their department.
So ofcourse they aren't there to help you in those situations. That's why you need to realize you have to take the situations into your own hands. Just do it the correct way. Cops don't give a fuk about you. They only care about their pensions and their families. You're just paperwork and a headache to them.

I started in 2002 and EVEN THEN my white friends and I knew we didn't want to get into a questionable shooting of a black person. Now everyone acts like white officers are going around killing black fold b/c they're black. It's all bullshyt.
When we heard a fellow white officer got into a shooting we'd ask, was the suspect black or white. White, oh, ok he's good no matter what. Black, oh shyt what happened exactly. We knew this 10 years BEFORE this current shyt started.
What's really changed is the public's attitude toward police b/c of blm and msm. People are more apt to fight and resist now bc they've painted the white police officer as 'always wrong' and they feel justified. Hence more fighting, more killings. blm has made everything worse for everyone, but they're all too stupid to realize it.

Not to mention there are different units for different crime types.they spend more time on speed traps and giving people tickets than actually protecting or focusing on crime.
And, if you want to know the truth about speed traps and tickets, 90% of the time they are started due to citizen complaints. The 2 biggest complaints from citizens are about hoes and speeders, neither any of us wanted to fuk with. But you have to think about the kind of person who makes these complaints, they're all Karens.

Slower response times allow cops to rightfully shift the burden of the crime consequences onto the victims instead of them. Most likely the violence and escalation had peaked by then.
This is why qualified immunity was needed, when officers inevitably make mistakes on the job like everyone else, but now that the district attorneys are more interested in persecuting cops than criminals why give them more ammo to fuel.
This is the resulting consequences of shifting the burden of crime back to the victims and I don't blame officers at all for it.
