Waiting for my UK residency permit. Taking a bit longer than expected because of the Ukrainian economic migrants. Should be another few weeks tops. Packed all the stuff i want to keep but don't want to take with me there and had them sent to Turkey for safekeeping.

Thanks! A change of scenery will be nice. The biggest downside is going from paying 0 income tax to...a lot more than 0. That said, there is a legal workaround, but I'm not sure I even want to go down that path

It's legit a good show. The lead was a good choice, the books make his physical presence a core part of his personality and his interaction with the world which is why casting Cruise in the movies was so frustrating.

I don't like London but my minimal interaction with ***** tells me I'd prefer the UK if those are the choices.

I move between a tropical biome and colder, temperate biome on the reg (fly back to visit family). The changes always play around with my system, usually hayfever. ***** to London will be pretty hectic, and I'd imagine the gloomy climes of the UK might be a hit to the mood of one used to *****.

I like London. It's not my favorite place on Earth, but i like it.

If i had to choose, i'd take ***** over London. I don't like it a vacation destination, but to live, it's as good as it gets imo. Avoiding the 40% tax rate is just the start. It's also the safest city in the world. I haven't even seen a fist fight break out in the 16 years i've been here. Does it happen? Sure, but its' so rare that i've never even seen one. Living here is like being on one long vacation. There's more to do than any other city on the planet, as far as activities go. It's not even close, actually. It's also a seaside city, which London isn't. It's also a relatively new city, and one that had a lot of money from the start...the implications of that is that is that the urban planning is just great, rather than quite random. Business wise, it's excellent. Our resident RP billionaires wouldn't like it here, but my working conditions are pretty nice. Healthcare, 22 days paid annual leave, maternity/paternity leave, end of service gratuity, etc... all guaranteed by law. You don't even contribute towards healthcare like you do in the UK. It's just free. Oh and the city is clean as fuk.

Currently spending the weekend in a mountain resort. Archery, trail hiking kayaking etc...

The climate is why ***** is home to so many Brits. I don't get that tbh. Give me the extreme cold over the extreme heat of ***** summer months any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Wrong. Each "cabin" is an experience. E.g. having dinner and drinks.

Unrelated, but similar, did this "Dinner in the Sky'. There's just so much to do.

Is that Dinner in the Sky, like the movie skyscraper where the floors become transparent to create the illusion you're in midair?

Time to get on that economic migrant life.

Don't come in Summer. Really. It takes some getting used to, and it's something you need to be eased into. So if you're going to try it, go around November or so if possible.

What research? Pretty sure I can give you more legit answers to any questions you might have, considering how long I've been here. What do you want to know?

There is nothing pressing atm, but I will certainly send any questions I have in the future as they arise. Thanks.

I was definitely wondering about the weather, though. What does everyone do when it is 45 degrees outside? I can only imagine staying in air conditioned apartments and malls.

The entire city is built with that in mind. Almost every building has underground parking, which is ventilated/ air conditioned. Outdoor areas, such as lounges/ beach bars etc... have water spraying fans etc...that said, summer months are mostly spent indoors. So we go to the beach for 8 months of the year, and avoid it for 4 months. So really the only thing that changes is that the activities go from outdoors ones to indoors ones. Indoor pubs rather than outdoor beachside ones. Evenings are manageable, but when the sun is up...it's worse than you think.

Went to my sons graduation Friday - pretty surreal experience 1st kid college graduation.

One mid day ceremony , and an evening one also.

Did a Airbnb for all the family members from both sides of the family to stay and hang, was pretty cool.

One lesson I’ve learned- anyone parent or grandparent over the age is 65 should be excused from attending- it’s just way too much walking and heat.

I’m gonna make him be my surrogate political career.

It’s still very infant, I wouldn’t worry about it too much yet.

You definitely want to follow Trump

https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump

Their main account

https://truthsocial.com/@truthsocial

Nunes

https://truthsocial.com/@DevinNunes

Then just start following people they re-truthed you might like

Click the search button and a list of people recommended to follow will pop up - try some of them - any red mark is verified that persons legit them.

You can also just go to someone’s following list and start following theirs until you develop a feed - then just follow people you might be interested in

It will probably be two more months before it automatically generates a feed for new people

You can reduce your follow list, or mute them later

Edit: follow this one
