The only argument I keep seeing against this is:"Well Mexico/Columbia/Brazil/Africa have more mass shootings".....as if beating 3rd world countries in fewer mass shootings is some sort of achievement. We as a western nation shouldn't even be in the same category as 3rd world countries under ANY metric whether it be literacy, infant mortality rates, mass shootings, homelessness etc, yet here we are stuck in a predicament where our only defense is:"Well, Columbia is worse."

It also kills me that the argument is "well, that country had a mass shooting too." The US has one a DAY. Like the Nigeria one being used as an example, meanwhile that's the first one they have had in years. I think their last school shooting was in 2013.

People quote the stats that Norway is top of the list per capita, meanwhile their ONE mass shooting just happened to kill a whole lot of people and they have a low population. But people will use any statistics to justify their opinion. When other countries - especially ones that tout themselves as the greatest country in the world -start having them daily, then you can compare.

Australia had 2 mass shootings since they banned guns. They consider a mass shooting "6 or more people fatally shot", our criteria is lower.
