Yeah, this is awesome. I know very little about the theory, but it blows my mind thinking about the inventors winding their own transformers or making reisitors out of carbon and cermics or capacitors out of glass jars with metal film.

This is what I was taught, you can't create engery out of nothing, only trasform it from one form to another. It makes sense that we live in a 'closed' universe. But magnets are the closest thing we have to real life magic, and I want to be leaf

Tortoise's
Wife brought home a rescue Tortoise and I ended up having to make a small habitat in our backyard. Built a shelter fo him to sleep in during the night, planted some lettuce for him to eat during the day, working on making a small waterfall for him to walk under so he can cool off during the day.

Fascinating for sure. There is something else from everyday life that is just as 'magical', that everyone knows very well but takes for granted: gravity. That two masses are attracted to each other due to this force is just as remarkable as a piece of metal attracted to a magnet, just a different force of nature.

I'm being a geeky chit here, but the first law is commonly misinterpreted like this. It isn't saying energy is metaphysically un-creatable. That would be a philosophical position one takes on the ontology of energy, and that would be a strange position too, since we don't have a solid ontological foothold on what energy is; it's defined as the capacity to do work or supply heat.
