You could totally do that with some kind of superbeing monster being born or a superbeing who rapes women and so on.
Homelander then caves in and gives some woman a laser abortion because even he has to admit that an abortion is good sometimes.
They could easily make shows about that.

1. Butcher made a promise to his dead wife to protect her kid. Thats why he did that, not to save Homelander but to fulfill his promise to the only person he ever gave a chit about.
2. Maeve didnt want everyone in that building to die from Soldier boys blast. Not that complicated.
3. Kimiko explained it in the episode, after Frenchie almost dying in front of her face she decided she wanted her powers back. In the past she was only used as a weapon but now she sees her powers as a means of protection. Not that complicated.

The show sucked and you clearly point out why, but no....it was a great show because you're an emotionally hurt Trump supporter.

If you have the time and ability to pay attention, this is an important read.
Many people watch shows like The Boys and think it's fun, but it's really not. The messages in shows like this are negative and successful propaganda changes your mind without the writer telling you they are trying to do that.
It's a form of lying that is much worse than directly lying to your face.

I was skeptical until real quotes from the creators' themselves are straight up saying Homelander is Trump, so it feels like they're completely divorcing themselves from what made the show/premise enjoyable in the first place (or what made HomelanderHomelander) because apparently masturbating over their political beliefs on Twitter isn't enough for them. The most they've accomplished is proving that "rent free" isn't an exaggeration if they somehow managed to twist an evil Superman-like figure into... Trump. I mean, really?I don't think a person has to like or hate Trump to see how stupid that is across the board; it's not clever writing, it's a cry for help.

You, Token, and any other non-Americans serve as a really important yet neglected problem that they're digging themselves into with the show, which is how not only does involvingAmericancurrent events date the show for American viewers, but it completely isolates everyone else. Our politics are exhausting and frankly retarded 99% of the time, so doubling and tripling down on more American-centric BS is dragging the entire thing down for everyone except an increasingly narrow segment of people who are just as miserable as the showrunners.
It reeks of self-importance, while also quite evidently hurting the quality when they're trying to squeeze in some extra Twitter-thought-turned-scene into the story.

Better, even, since Butcher would never have to think about including him in his Supe genocide plan.
2.Even the building excuse made no sense when this wastheshot to take down Homelander, who this entire time they've been worried would go completely off the rails at any moment and wipe out the entirehuman race. It only became a plot point because Starlight's writing demands that she be an insufferable, holier-than-thou nag.
It also came off like some missing communication if their mission was to save people at Vought but Kimiko went chimpanzee mode on a bunch of security guards.
4. Nope, Soldier Boy had walked past a white and black gay couple with nothing but a shrug and outright calls Bill Cosby America's dad. Even in MM's recollection of his grandfather's death, Soldier Boy didn't even notice them when tossing a vehicle aside.
And not to be a dick, but this whole bloody time MM made it seem like Soldier Boy personally broke into their house and caved his grandpa's head in, when going by MM's own explanation of the event, it was negligent yet unintentional collateral damage. Then MM's father only died of, um, stress? MM still has every right to be pissed, but they really milked an accident (no pun intended) in order for him to actively turn his brain off while getting in the way this season.
5. Hughie wasn't even in the wrong to go the route he did with Temp V.
- He was helpless to protect his girlfriend from getting vaporized.
- He can't do anything to help The Boys beyond setting up cameras to blackmail A-Train in season 1.
- He is unable to protect Annie from a psychopathic Superman.
- He himself has been used by said psychotic Superman as leverage against Annie.
- And when he finally feels like he's doing something proactive in the fight against Vought without resorting to Butcher's ways, he finds out he's been working for Newman/Head-Popper the entire time.
The reaction towards Hughie using Temp V came off like the writers mixed him up with Butcher, who reallywaschanging for the worse. Hughie finally started to have some self-worth and not be walked over by everyon-aaannnndhe's back to being raw dog bottom.

I don't get why Butcher cares so much about this kid either to be fair. Remember, this is the guy who wanted to abandon the kid and just have he and his wife run away together. I know he "made a promise" or whatever but a guy like that who doesn't really give a sh*t about that kid is not gonna live up to that promise, no offense. There's just nothing in it for him. He wanted her and that was it, which is obvious by flat attempting to convince her to abandon the kid earlier. It was never really about her, it was about himself and what he wanted tbh
So yeah I agree with Butcher going all protective mode. Completely out of character. Especially after the kid chose Homelander. Butcher doesn't have that kind of patience to continue supporting the child until he comes around and see things differently. No chance.

What the hell did Starlight do to her face? She was so cute in the first two seasons and then turned into a plastic surgery monster.

More to the point about Butcher and the kid... the kid at one point asked Butcher to stay with him at the end of season 2 and he straight up left him with that other woman instead so he could go on some revenge tour against HL.... again all for himself. He's not interested in protecting or caring for this kid at all.... so it really doesn't add up as much as the writers want you all to cling to this "promise" storyline.

Overall, I think this show is a like a 6/10. Some interesting tidbits but the writing is kind of all over the place.
They talk about Homelander being practically invincible, yet Maeve can almost go toe to toe with him. Soldier Boy, who is pretty much almost as strong as Homelander, has a hard time beating Butcher who just recently started dosing himself with temporary V? Huh? And when Butcher was busy fighting Soldier Boy, at any moment he could have just stopped and said, "Hey, let me get the kid out of the way and then you can destroy Homelander." But no, can't do that because it ruins the plot. It's almost sitcom quality writing.
And what a cop out that Maeve only had her super powers taken away. Doesn't seem like either Homelander or Soldier Boy are that strong. Might as well just fist themselves.
I also hate how OP some of the powers they give a few of the characters. The AOC clone can pop people's heads off just by thought? That medical facility patient also has a pretty significant power where she can just squeeze people via thought? Da fukk.
A decent show to watch if you have nothing else to do.

So yeah I agree with Butcher going all protective mode. Completely out of character. Especially after the kid chose Homelander. Butcher doesn't have that kind of patience to continue supporting the child until he comes around and see things differently. No chance.

He's not interested in protecting or caring for this kid at all.... so it really doesn't add up as much as the writers want you all to cling to this "promise" storyline.
"Let's introduce Temp V so they can finally get superpow- oops sorry, it's gone, back to being normies"
"Let's introduce a supe with a depowering be- oops sorry, Butcher pulled a 180 and SB is now boxed"

Maybe they can toss Hughie's dad into a vat of experimental V so he turns into a HL tier supe who then spends a whole season contemplating his feelings.
Kripke and the rest of the retards actually managed to pull a TLJ move with the show in a single episode. Everything that follows will be stupid and it's pretty much impossible to care about any of the characters.

As a non American, though I see the likeness of real life happenings, doesn't really affect me much.
But question- are the agendas really obvious for American viewers or just those who thinks a lot about political/social issues? Would it really sway American minds on their life view?
That said, lol @ Soldier Boy telling Butcher what the Hell is wrong with him protecting the kid not his. Lol

The characters who are evil are The Boys.
Hughey murdered the invisible guy because A Train didn't apologize to him for ACCIDENTALLY killing his girlfriend.
Hughey willfully detonated explosives shoved up another man's anus because he was angry his girlfriend died.
Hughey is some nerd who couldn't move out of dad's house until he got excited about murdering people.
Homelander is a genetic experiment raised in a lab and mentally and physically tortured to make him a slave of the company. He has killed people for people he likes love him and that he owes.

-Homelander is supposed to be top tier, above everyone else, with a lot of that doing how he was pretty much a test tube Supe.
-Soldier Boy is like the original Homelander, strong and durable, but he can’t fly or use laser vision.
-We know Maeve is strong and extremely durable to where she can tank a massive vehicle without flinching, and I’ll give them that the fight between her and Homelander came across as the latter holding back, not taking her seriously. One line of reasoning I’ve read is that Homelander didn’t want to kill her, but specifically in part because of what he said about harvesting her eggs. I’m not sure I entirely buy that because he has Ryan now, but I also wouldn’t rule it out completely.
-From what I understand, Newman (head-popper) has to have eye contact with the target at least. It also doesn’t seem like she’s powerful enough to affect Homelander, or he’s quick/strong enough to eliminate her before she can even be a threat.
-Starlight charges up from nearby electricity, but it’s all over the map what this even does. Again, I’ll at least credit the show for having other supes tell her to her face to cut it out because it’s dumb, and at this point I hope they just leave it at that.
Where they’llgo, or at least my guess with their formulaic BS, is that this finale was the tease for some true super saiyan power up for a final confrontation. Now, if the show was consistent with its cynicism/satire, then Starlight standing next to a power plant would just make her head pop or something, which at this point I’d just laugh at.
It was really in that final episode where all of that went out the window for the most part. Even before that, the Temp V introduced a bit of a power level problem on its own because despite being limited to ~24 hours, it somehow put Butcher even remotely close to someone like Homelander or Soldier Boy only made things fall apart faster.
Now we're just left with whether (ha) Butcher goes full V to not die.

They introduced the proverbial kryptonite to Homelander evidently far too early and chose the worst way to write it out of the equation. Just as bad, they took the Temp V out of the equation just to shoehorn in some faux moral quandary or whatever for Annie and MM to bitch about to create artificial drama. So what we’re left with is The Boys come up with some new dumbsh*t plan to take out god complex Superman that will ultimately fail so that they can at least stretch this to 5 seasons. And eventhatisn’t set in stone, so they could pad it out further if they get the greenlight for more seasons from Amazon.
If anyone can stretch a prolapsed plot beyond its value, it’s Kripke.

Also, some of it I would normally be a bit skeptical about, but when the creators are going on Twitter or interviews outright stating that it is their intent for specific things, it follows through with being like the real thing: obnoxious.
Anyway, agreed on Soldier Boy. Incredible how they could write that reaction in, yet not have the wherewithal to see just how daft the entire setup to this whole thing was.

So, people are picking up on themes in the show whether they understand them or not.
In the US we are bombarded with nonstop propaganda about sexual and political issues. It's in comics, cartoons, news, movies, and it's almost always one sided. Many people, as you see here, are getting really aware of it and tired of hearing the same stuff over and over.
What country are you in?
Does it produce its own entertainment?
If so do you noticed that stories are actually trying to promote some idea or are they just interesting stories?

Homelander only hurts people who he believes did something to him. He is wrong to do it, but it's because his feelings are hurt and he's had nothing but that.
In the last Episode, Homelander is once again totally unhappy because of others, not something he did. Then, the one person he really likes, his son is put in danger and he snaps out of being selfish. He typically does not seem to mind Butcher too much as in previous episodes he said he understands why Butcher is angry.
When it came time to protect the kid, Homelander and Butcher turned back into the good guys they really are. Both guys are supposed to be f@cked up but good at heart. That's what it seems to me, but the show is written like crap, lol.
