Rebuilt my pc into a lian li 011 dynamic Evo. It's Def the most common ass build case but honestly for good reason, by far the best case I've built in.

Not everyone's taste but I love the rgb. Got 12 fans linked up with 3 on each side of the cpu cooler, which is mounted on the side drawing in cold air. Got the corsair LCD display h150i. Lian li strimer rgb cables. 7 inch screen mounted inside instead of the exhaust fan just running wallpaper engine. Don't really need the exhaust out thr back, it all flows up out the top.




Super pleased with the build, won't need to touch it for a while. Came out clean as fug.

Looks beautiful man. I just installed my fans and rgb but 2 don't work so i have to get new ones tomorrow.

boring all black corsair case from 2012. no led crew
32" 1440p LG screen.
edifier 2000db speakers


1060 is just something to hold me over until prices are normal, they only now came down to msrp. might as well wait until 4000 series now. Also might get a pcie ssd down the road and 5000 series cpu.

Is it worth upgrading the CPU yet?


I'm running a Ryzen 7 3700x ... I'm playing most games just fine on my 3080ti, but I know eventually it'll be a bottleneck as games get more cpu intensive ... Worth upgrading now or should I just keep holding out?

Be careful that wait might be longer than people think. Nvidia seems to be waiting for the 3000 stock to sell off before bringing out the 4000 series.

You're fine unless you play 1080. Wait for next gen and get something. You'll see minor improvements with like a 5800x but not sure it's really worth it.

Upgraded my Ryzen 3 3200G (4 core/4 thread) to Ryzen 5 5600 (6 core, 12 thread) - monster performance boost in games.

Run an RX580 that was on sale before the GPU shortage, with the Ryzen 3 almost everything I have runs at medium 1080p, now everything I own is 1080p MAX, FS2020, Elden Ring, Witcher 3 (not exactly taxing) with flawless performance. I don't have any intention of changing monitors (32" curved) so the Ryzen 5 will be my last upgrade for a long time, also changed to a nice Lian Li case and new tower cooler so aesthetics are taken care of.

For you specifically, I think the Ryzen 7 3700x is fine. I have an i9-10900k and playing maximum graphics on 5120 x 1440p without issue

I think I might switch from an intel processor to AMD though with more cores, because lately I've been doing less gaming and more photo/video editing

My issue with the 10900k (which i also have) is ddr5 support and pcie 5 support. Just based on gpu bottleneck on my 6800xt, the chip would probably be viable for at least another 5 years or 3 more GPU cycles. The 10th gen is a well made chip and will probably outlast the obsolesence of your motherboard.

it took me a few days to figure out

asus armory crate after installing like 3x eventually controlled all my argb but it was rage inducing

msi and gskill software kept fukking chit up

next gen im buying all he same brand

Yeah they definitely aren't cheap and it was easy to setup. Might even get another one for the TV soon.

DIY Ikea desks are the only way to go

I also learned how to make a nice little charging station out of another ikea project. stuff is too good

Well in terms of lighting, its nice that all their products can by syncd together using their app. I have lights on the back of my TV that sync to what's on the screen adding more immersion. As I've bought more products I can tie them into that sync scenario and basically have every light from govee mimicking what's on my tv screen. Or you can just choose from alot of different preset lighting effects or sync them to music. I also have em all hooked up to alexa which is in turn hooked up to my TV so I can just voice control everything.

Either you like rgb lighting or you don't so that's really on you. I'm just saying if you do, govee products are top notch with the app support and capabilities. They've become really popular in the rgb home lighting space so they have alot of good products now.

I'm not home right now but I can post some gifs or pics later or just look on YouTube for govee immersion stuff.

Yeah these days with monitors getting bigger using a wall mount or desk clamp mount is key. I don't have a huge desk but I have a dual monitor arm and if I didn't have it I'd have almost no desk space. The stands that shipped with my monitors are big af

caved and got a used 3060 once prices started dropping, at 1440p the 1060 was getting annoying with newer games. i had a 2070 and sold that late 2020 and because im stubborn wanted atleast as good a card for less than i sold that one for so i feel like im "upgrading". didnt realize the big gap between 3060 ti and 3060 until after i bought it or would have looked a bit longer for a TI. oh well.

3070 is the sweet spot but even the 3080s are available at large discounts at the moment.

I had the CX wall mounted in the last house so the small desk worked better but not sure I want to do that here, definitely need to grab a Steelcase desk to match the chair and filing cabinet

It's a 48" LG CX so the refresh rates and everything are good but still lacks some of the good features that a computer monitor should have

Bought it two years ago and I'm out of town most of the time so it hasn't gotten enough use to gauge anything

But I have a 65" LG B7 purchased five years ago and that recently started showing red burn-in (mainly from Netflix it seems), but it has gotten a TON of use and it doesn't stop us from using it now. I've been looking at a panel replacement lately rather than buying a new TV but will probably relegate it to a different room and replace it unless a panel swap is easy and significantly cheaper.



Five years of very heavy use on the B7 though and newer models should be more burn-in resistant, I'm happy to take the risk for the benefits

except.. the price came in at $3,500 when I was initially expecting $2,500 max.

kinda puts a damper on my plans. I was gonna buy 2.

but for like $1800 you can essentially just get the same real estate (49" odyssey g9 + 2x 27" odyssey g7) except you have to deal with the annoyance of lining up bezels

is it worth another $1700 just for aesthetics? maybe
