Your “dream life” are you actually pursuing it or is it just a fantasy?

Was thinking about this after a recent post about quitting your 9-5 and living your dream life.

A fantasy all wagecels have

But are any of you actually pursuing your dream life? Taking action on your escape plan?

Ive been doing so since Covid. Was a huge wake up call that none of this chit really matters and the world is my oyster.


Would like to know if any of you brahs are actually pursuing your dream life, what is it, and what steps have you taken so far

In my 20's 100% I was. ONe step at a time. One realistic goal at a time
I remember when I was making $30k i thought it would be life changing to make $60k.

You just have to wake up every day and take one step at a time towards REALISTIC goals, and once you crush that you build bigger ones until the ones that seemed crazy are now realitic

Start small, work your way up to the goal. Make your goals achievable, realistic, but keep moving the ball down the field as you get them knocked off the list. Best thing a wagecel can do is have a side hustle. It opens your eyes to the possibilites and motivates you to further pursue your goals. Working for a company the rest of your life that you don't own or have a major stake in is a surefire way to stay middle class. Seeing results out of your side hustle is probably the best motivation i can think of to take your dreams to the next level. So many people are too afraid to step out of their comfort zone, which is why they stay middle class and miserable.

I have never understood the grind, side hustle culture. Read any ancient philosopher... you think Aristotle was all like "you've got to SUCCEED like you want to BREATHE"? That chit is a toxic by-product of neoliberalism.

In fact, they say the opposite. The smart guys figured out long ago that desire and hedonism are a trap, a treadmill you never stop running on.

I don't know about you guys, but I would much rather be useful, or competent, or respected, than be rich. I think a high school sports coach who serves as a father figure to a single fukking kid is more valuable to society than fukking Hunter Biden shooting up in a Malibu mansion, knowing he's just dead weight to the world.

The fact thatI'mdead weight to the world is what keeps me awake at night. Working in the rat race never does.

-Work my own hours rather it's 20 a week or 50.

So far I'm nowhere near that. I need to figure out a way to get a high figure job or start my own business.

If I can get a sales job and get good at making $200k/yr that'd be perfect. So that's my current goal

im beginning to transition more into it but its pretty darn good so far

bodybuilding is getting better every year despite me wanting to get done, the more i want to quit the better i get at it it seems
started coaching now and working with clients who are LOVING my coaching
planning on coaching full time and eventually training high level coaches/competitors in person of lifting for hypertrophy as that is more my specific niche i think i can offer great value
with increased income and raise at work plan to save to buy a condo and have house now as first rental/investment property to start creating passive income.
getting to travel at least 4-6 times a year right now as well.

I get what you’re saying never really understood the fascination with that kind of lifestyle myself it just seems so corny.

My ideal situation is a simple life doing what I love for a living with enough free time to enjoy my hobbies and spend time with my friends and future family

I'm trying to get after it bro but it's hard sometime.
In my case it means starting my own business within my proffesion but that is in no means an escape from 9-5. If anything it will be more work, just likely double my already 6 figure salary

I’m in the same boat op. I’m finally making decent money in my profession but it’s contract work under agencies.
The goal is to eventually have my own agency, hire a couple talented workers overseas and just manage projects until I can outsource that out also.
