It never stopped the spread. It was a leaky vaccine.

of course viral loads are the same..even CDC put out a study on this...

Yes it can, and it did. It reduces the severity of illness by priming your immune system to the antigen. Think about it. You spend less time sick, and it prevents the virus from doing serious damage to you. You guys don't know anything. It's all political with you, and it's like arguing with someone's religion.

i had covid. No vax and didn’t even know I had it. (Because young, not a bloat lord, and don’t have 4 existing conditions. ). So if I had the vax I’d not know I had it twice as much? Lmao

The progression of talking points over the past year has been absolutely wild. The fact that people are continuing to earnestly mouth them is the most intriguing part of the whole story. And at each point they deny they ever said the previous one, even though it is all on record (despite the efforts of media organisations to remove access to those videos).

The vaccine will prevent you from catching and spreading covid and once we are vaccinated the pandemic is over

Actually, effectiveness wanes quickly and you need regular revaccination

There may be some breakthrough cases

No vaccine has ever been 100% effective at preventing disease

The vaccine is designed to reduce the severity of the disease

The vaccine was never intended to prevent catching and spreading covid, it was only ever designed to reduce symptoms

The vaccine does effectively nothing to stop the spread, and the unscientific and deceitful advertising of it is a scandal, but I'm not a total disbeliever.

But to explain how the numbers work ...

If it reduces the chance of serious outcomes by 75% (which I consider a realistic estimate based on the available numbers (which nobody is looking at properly)) and in your age group (lets say 20s or 30s) the chance of serious health risk (if you actually get covid) is say 0.04%, then it reduces this to 0.01%.

So the 75% improvement is actually a 0.03% improvement. That is, for every 10,000 times you get covid, one 3 of those times you will be better off with the vaccine.

Obviously those numbers look a bit more impressive if you are 95 years old, and probably make it worth doing if you choose.

If you're a kid they look even less impressive and for younger age groups they are at the point where the risks of adverse reactions outweigh any possible benefit.

Why does the anti-vaccine crowd need to hide behind so many lies to prop up their position? Nothing in my post said what you claim.
Stop spreading lies then. And it's not irrational. You're just a fear monger, or you're trying to convince yourself you were justified in getting it....
I supported my statements with cited statistics, which you intentionally ignore.

This is why I generally avoid the anti-vaccine echo chamber here. You were shown clear, nationwide, statistical evidence that proves the value of vaccination (Post 29)... so you just ignore it.

During Delta, the US saw the highest peak of infections, and second-highest peak of deaths. The unvaccinated died at 10x the rate of vaccinated/boosted. And somehow that leads to an irrational claim that vaccines don't work?

Omicron is seeing similar results, but with less total infections and deaths - yet the unvaccinated are still carrying the burden of ending up in a grave.

I love how you keep ignoring the fact that no one is really arguing the preventing death part of the vaccines. That’s a given my guy. The part that is hilarious is all the backtracking you and other pro-covid people do when trying to defend the position of the vaccine stopping spread. Which it never did. You just can’t admit they/you were wrong.

They released an unapproved unstudied leaky vaccine and had to do damage control at every turn.

BRB didn’t know it didn’t stop spread.

BRB didn’t know it would wane.

BRB. Didn’t know it would wane just after 3 months

BRB didn’t know you’d need a booster.

BRB. Didn’t know you’d need a 2nd booster

BRB didn’t know you’d need a 3rd booster.

BRB didn’t know it would cause clots

BRB didn’t know it would cause myocarditis

BRB didnt test it on pregnant people but recommended it to them anyways

BRB. Didn’t test it on fertility but recommended it anyways.

BRB have no real long term data on this and don’t want to release data for 75 years lmao.

BRB the cdc now saying the vaxxed and unvaxxed are the same which was called a conspiracy theory this entire time.

No interest in continuing to argue with you about this because we’ll just keep going in circles, but I do have a question. Do you intend to continue to get Covid boosters every year?

There is no need for you to get jabbed now Dave. If you already got covid before, you don't gain much -- especially not with the omicron based variants floating around.

You gain a small nonzero amount because your natural immunity could have generated different binding antibodies. But it isn't essential.

I'd add the following caveats:

Vaccine-induced immunity is much more consistent, since if you vaccinate 100 people you will get a similar level of antibodies. Since COVID is such a strange virus with high amounts of asymptomatic cases these will produce a low antibody response in contrast to a more serious case. So a low consistency rate among the infected. Even the best natural responses are not better than the vaccine responses.

Another key difference between the vaccine and natural infection is the hyper-specificity of the vaccine. Attenuated virus vaccines give large and non-specific protection, but the new mRNA vaccines give a highly focused and effective response to specific targets like the spike protein of COVID. With natural immunity, you get a crapshoot in terms of the antibodies produced; you could get a lot against useless structural elements of the virus and not parts relevant to infection. So a broader and less specific range. But the vaccine is 100% all against the spike protein.

They also don't cause direct damage like the virus itself would.

My argument is ultimately that unless you had a severe case of Covid, don't rely on your natural immunity.
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.

So your argument is that someone with prior infection should also get the vaccine? Lmao.

Bro what planet do you live on in which you get vaccines for something you’ve already had lmaoo.

As usual just complete and absolute horsesh!t from you. There is a lot involved with a natural response to infection, so beating off the virus naturally provides your body with a much better understanding of the threat. The spike protein is just one aspect of it, and the injection only exposes your body to that specific aspect.

And not to mention, if you rely on natural immunity you don’t expose yourself to all the risks that go along with the injection.

The spike protein is just one aspect of it, and the injection only exposes your body to that specific aspect.

And not to mention, if you rely on natural immunity you don’t expose yourself to all the risks that go along with the injection.
