The arm and bucket (size and depth) look small in comparison to the frame and, yeah, maybe the angle makes it looks strange as well. But it does look like the original sketch, plus I have no idea what I'm talking about so...

That's a common theme with my projects


I got the axle brackets cleaned up, and started drilling 1.5mm holes for the pins. I got about halfway through before my drill bit broke

Thanks brah. I haven't thought that far ahead. The wood has some dents/scratches in it already, I wont sand those out or paint/stain the wood when it's finished. I will also wrap the arm with rope where it hits the cross bar.

I'm open to suggestions, if you have any tips.

I got the rest of the holes drilled and nailed the brackets on




We rollin on 6mm wooden doweling.




I cut the cross bar support for the top. The table saw munched it up a bit, lets call it 'battle damage'




I'm almost ready to start glueing it together, I want to be sure all the pieces fit and I have all the holes drilled in the right place.

Then it's time to think about the skein and the mechanics around firing.

I'm glueing the cross pieces and uprights in place today, i don't think the glue will be enough to hold it together long-term so I'll probably end up drilling 6mm holes in the joins and hammering in some doweling to sure it up.

I have no clue about "torsion" but my head thinks something like rubberbands might work better than rope or string. Really cool man please maximize catapultion tho

Yeah rubber bands could work, but they look cheap. I want it to look legit. The rubber would perish too. I've got some waxed polyester cord, I'm going to give that a crack. Anything elastic is cheating
