Russians who want to flee from the Putin regime can still apply for asylum and citizenship. A russian from my thaiboxing gym came here after the war started. He's a highly qualified engineer and got here with his wife and daughter after the war started. He's already working as an engineer in a german company and is a nice guy. It's not about isolating the cool and smart people but to keep the dumb Vatniks out that hate Europe but want to spend every vacation here.
It was clear from the beginning that Putin would kill russias economy by trying to fight an economic war with EU. They only have energy as a lever and they need the revenue from it more than EU needs the russian gas. It was cheap and easy but it's not irreplacable. EU has technology, money and trade flows which are irreplacable for russia though.
Now it seems like Putin is going to let russian men die in Crimea in a war that's basically over already.

Completely over for Russia but doubt Putin will let this happen without a hard fight...

I still think 'Ukraine will win' and 'Putin's war will be defeated' but it's gonna have to happen without me for right now, and this is going to be a long conflict so my warning for all is to not expect a quick outcome.
Memcop and others - long term conflicts such as this are often not solely decided by brute military power but the political, economic, and social aspects as well. The outcomes of many wars show this to be the case. Good luck everybody and may good things happen instead of bad. My interest in this is and always has been the good people of Ukraine winning their fight against brutal oppression. That is what I have grown to love over these years - the strong people of Ukraine and their desire for a better future. Maybe they will succeed; maybe they won't.

LOL guess who runs ISW? That's right. Kim Kagan. Kagan? Does that name ring a bell? Why yes, her husband was one of the members of PNAC and the architects of all the warmongering we have seen in the last 3 decades. Pretty cool huh? Remember when Trump was talking about the swamp and the deep state? Yeah. The Kagans are part of that deep state. Surprise!
BTW guess who supports and funds ISW? Besides us of course? Why, you guessed it! Defense contractors!!! Shocking isn't it? FKING LMAO!!
INB4 2 shots to the back of the head suicide.
But naw, go ahead and trust their tOtAlLy ObJeCtiVe analysis of the situation. Surely the folks who brought us Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, and a host of other fuk ups have our best interests at heart. They care oh so much about the American taxpayer right?
Who benefits from Black Sea encirclement (hint: Russia uses the Black Sea to supply Syria) and the destabilization of the middle east?

And they call it antisemitism if you criticize it. AIPAC has their hands up our country's asshoel. Stephen Walt and John Mearsheimer wrote a fantastic book about this. Eliot Cohen, also a PNAC member accused them of antisemitism.
Just fukking lol
Oh remember Victoria Nuland? She's married to another Kagan btw. Just putting that out there.

It's a non-stop OODA Loop. It should be clear that as of now Russia has no goal other than LPR/DPR Crimea with goals to chew up mobile forces with artillery on strong lines they cannot respond to.

We were supposed to cooperate with Russia and build a security framework for Eurasia. What ended up happening was some hard nosed people convinced Clinton that we could keep expanding and to dress up imperialism in liberal rhetoric.
Basically, silly Billy actually fuked everything. And it's been chit ever since with multiple different presidents failing to resist the Blob. Even Trump succumbed. If Trump were a smarter man, he would not have armed Ukraine. Obama, having failed in Libya, was wise to resist them.
Bottom line is this: multiple ppl in our foreign policy did not believe Russia had changed after the cold war. And to this day, they refuse peace. They have sought to antagonize them to validate their own misperceptions. Now they yell, "See! we told you!" when they made this happen. They bring about the horror they claim to fear. They are warmongers -- bitter chauvinistic hopeless and spiteful people who care nothing for this world.
Russia does not want to be our enemy, and neither does China. They were forced into this by our provocations. Putin tried for decades to reach out to us. We snubbed him. We mocked him. We disrespected his great civilization. And we threatened him. The coup de grace was colluding with literal fuking nazis and trying to screw Russia out of the Black Sea. We have betrayed everything the UN is supposed to stand for, and Kennedy's vision for peace. We are unworthy of the power we wield. The sun sets on our empire. Only a revolution in foreign policy can save our failing country and heal the wounds of the world before it is too late and the fires of war consume us all.

Wincel the dimwit who is repeatedly on record for flat out hating his country and countrymen and hoping that the US "loses" this one barfing up Kremlin talking points.
Colour me shocked. In Russia you would have been gulag'd for far less, you mongoloid.
We're almost seven months in, when are the Russians going to REALLY start their whole thing, hmm?
