Yeah, reading that is actually pretty sad. People don't meet up after years and years, it's like nobody wants to. Nobody really meets up in a reunion type setting after school despite having so much fun at one point in time. It was common from maybe the 1900s up to around 2011. Actually, people leaving school in even 2007 are not meeting up 10 years later in 2017, just 2 completely different eras. Most people are content just to check someones ******** profile. Like what is that, so ridiculous. Completely kills the novelty of catching up with friends you used to hang out with all day everyday for like 14+ years.

See this video here. People seeing their long lost friends with genuine fun and laughter after 12 years. Now that's a good experience. Something people won't experience anymore thanks to the uprising of being ever so connected through social media.

I don't know who these people are though lol. It doesn't matter, they're just really fortunate to have this to look back on. Just like you I'd assume. Also people back then just looked kinder and seemed more happy to socialise and have genuine conversations about life. (Irrespective of the video) Now people put it on for show. No tact at all. I can tell too.

I mean why is everything recorded now, people are creating all kinds of crazy for the sake of it.

Exactly, you and ur friends clowning around together talking crap to eachother was probably the most fun we could have. Fast forward to now and nobody cares. It's like people now just want to zap the fun out of everything and now nobody has proper memories to reminisce on. So sad.

Thanks for sharing though, when was ur friends wedding/reunion thing? Have u met ur friends since highschool?
People zap the fun out of things but also the few people that do try to joke around and be fun just jestermaxx and act super immature and the jokes are corny. But like i can't remember the last time i saw anyone that was funny or had swag. It used to be 90% of people would be like that when you went out. So many people nowadays are just distant and cold and looking at their screens. Or just really awkward with their social skills and mannerisms. It's almost like some mild autism or something from the effects of social media.

Swag - style and confidence. Yeah nobody has it anymore.

That's what concerns me personally, people acting like this dystopia is normal, like a bunch of NPCs. Maybe that's you guys issue too. You don't like how people are just falling into dystopia with no self awareness/resistance. But that will change soon when it all becomes unsustainable. If you think it's bad now, think about the next gen. This is all they'll know.
What does that mean now.

I'm in UK, guessing others are in USA because of the times they are posting. Read through posts in this thread. Some are social but it seems far too forced and the self aware laid back people just look retarded/braindead. There's no happy medium since everything is taught through social media so no wonder people are staggered/awkward. There's no cool guy talking stuff looking natural without looking like benders and girls just aren't bubbly/fun or interesting. This is irrespective of how they look too.

Rephrase that 2nd paragraph, no idea what u meant by that. Yeah and the next generations will be messed up socially and genetically. I think I already mentioned how people were hotter in the 90s/00s. People aren't designed to sit all day, be on screens and just isolating themselves for years on end. These clowns are now parents passing down their 0 wisdom and 0 life experiences.

things dont happen that fast, we havnt even hit hard times yet its still some of the easiest time ever right now, no one is working, people who are working arent really working, food is still abundant, inflation is still increasing because people have so much money to spend and good and services are being pumped out at all time highs to consumers, people are getting fatter and more unhealthy from over consumption

we still have probably years of hard times to go through before we start having the years of strong people rising up. I say look to the 2030s if America has a big comeback.

Radical feminists need a hard reality check. Men and women have their strengths and weaknesses, just accept it and roll with it babe.
Finding something to be passionately outraged about need to not be a thing. Spend more time on self improvement.
White men in the USA have done an insane amount of very important things to get us where we are. To generally demonize them is incredibly ignorant and prejudiced.

What is that, do you just stay away from technology for a while? If so, hard to believe that people have to really challenge themselves to stay away from the supposed temptations. What a joke. The era of 90s/00s had the people not even care about silly screens in their full day unless it was TV.

I remember a holiday resort I went to when I was younger just had a damaged 10 inch TV with 5 channels. This was in the top of the line resorts too, when we left my parents were mad and they complained, the response was that they did this on purpose so people could experience the resorts and embrace the fun experience. This was long before any smartphone too.

People were putting small things in place to prevent the problem when it was normal to think that 2 hours of TV was overboard in a typical day. What happened to that?? Now clowns are on screens like 14+ hours a day.

This is what I talk about all the time, the people designing the pre 2010 world were just geniuses, they created lines and enabled the community not to cross it. Now the geniuses born in the 50s/60s and 70s have taken a back seat since they're understandably old. The next generation had to take over eventually and look at how out of control stuff is now that the retards born in the late 80s/90s-2002 are in charge. They haven't got a clue.

very true

I think the hustle culture got mixed in with equality too much.

Women did need equal rights with voting, what they wear, respect from everyone, equal pay, etc...

but gender roles as human beings and identifying them should have been kept in

Making everything about chasing success and money is destroying human being being connected to what makes us human

For women it just happens to be they are ultimately created to bear offspring, it just is the biological purpose as well as psychological as a species. If you cant accept that hard truth, complain to science.

For men it is to be hunter gatherers and protectors.

Then theres a perversion of human nature where men are trying to be women and women are trying to be men. No other species demonstrates this. Not speaking on sexuality as many species demonstrate all sorts of non heteronormative sexual activities but they adhere to gender roles as a species, and humans somehow started thinking we are "better" than our nature and we just arent. Making some perversion of our nature going completely against it aint it.

People are on their phones all day. This article is from 2014 and the total screen time was 270 hours. Now it's 424 hours. This is just your average person. Many are probably well over 8 hours per day.

Yeah, almost all people fall asleep with their phones under their pillow/on their bed checking it every 5 minutes, then most people claim they have insomnia. A guy at the sauna told me he has (fake self inflicted) insomnia and I said to stop using his phone. He said it's not his phone because he has it on night mode (blue light reduction). He went on to explain how his brain won't release melatonin which should infact help him sleep (yes he said that). At this point I knew this guy was a lost cause. After forcing endless medical jargon on me, I simply exclaimed one point in saying that keeping your eyes open won't induce sleep. He basically crashed after I said that. Nobody has common sense.

My phone is currently dissected in some drawer (wanted to learn how the components work), when it was in 1 piece I use it like once a week. Main phone is a flip phone, just far better/serves a more practical application in day to day life.

When I wake up I just swing on my doorframe. People now are so weak relying on caffeinated beverages. Just get lose weight and get off screens. It is making your life boring/unfulfilling/zombiefied, nobody needs waste medical resources endlessly diagnosing issues that aren't there.

Too bad the mid 90's brought us PC culture and everyone became sensitive. Just look at how commercials used to be funny or had chicks in them. Next thing you know just a bunch of ****s or women making the guy look stupid.

I remember feeling addicted to AIM and Yahoo Messenger in the 90s/early 2000s, but that's nothing compared to phones today. When you're in the airport everyone is on their phone. I guess back in the day people used to read books at the airport.

Internet addiction. People are exposed to dopamine sources that steadily deteriorate their mental health. You really think all this social media or all these obscure porn sources are natural? They exploit people's instinctive limbic systems and make them give themselves brian damage like those rats they gave ******* in a water bottle, people go ddedededededed and push the button and their brain chemistry turns to mush.

That's what happened and will keep happening to future generations unless people stand up and say "this is bad for us and our kids". I doubt they will though, the average fukking moron is happy in their pathetic little pleasure cave.

The things is, they give them these fancy labels but really it's self explanatory. Nobody in 2022 has a sane mind. However, describe a near future of sitting indoors/being on phones/screens for 10+ hours with 0 physical hobbies to a 25 year old in 2000 and he'd just laugh and say that's a perfect environment to create mental issues and that nobody would stoop to that level.

Really? Man, that wasn't even that long ago. People are only doing this becuase their little media's tell them to, I doubt they actually fully understand what they're doing. Switching to a whole other gender isn't quite a nose job. Wherever I go advertisements are parading around about that and black people stuff/powerful women/gay everything etc. Why is it being blasted in everyone's faces? Like nobody gives a crap, just let those things happen without huge budgets on things people already know. It's not even a scientific discovery or something jaw droppingly amazing that'll change humanity, it's literally just people voicing really weird topics for no reason.

Like if I saw a gay guy, I wouldn't care and wouldn't mind talking to him. Now if he started bombarding me about how gay people are amazing/advertising how they need respect I'd just walk off.

People literally do not connect the dots in their heads because nobody cares about their preposterous sales pitches. If they had something unheard of/amazing to offer, then that would atleast be a bit better.

Man, people are a special kind of stupid, I wish I was just in a never ending loop of 1990-2010 or 2006-2010. Every person back then thought like me, it was a true utopia. I really can't stand how boring and broken things are in 2022. Nobody critically thinks anything, just pumping out garbage to check boxes. Almost as if people just want to prove never ending points as opposed to create a really amazing stable world that was 1990-2010.

Everything started going downhill beginning in 2007 once everyone started playing XBox 360. None of my friends ever came over again. For the ones, I still visited, I had to drive to meet them. Even now, they refuse to drive to my place, I have to drive to their place. It's straight up obesity at this point.

My gf gets on her phone every time we go to a social place or we drive around in the car. She watches TV and plays candy crush at the same time listening to a podcast in one ear. I just don't understand it.

I'm at work now and everyone is just listening to a podcast or looking at their monitors. But it's like there's no hobbies or intellectual topics being discussed. Just air.

I'm just baffled at this point

10 years ago I swear all of my buddies were out doing things and talking about their cars, music, lifting, locker room talk etc. Idk what the fuk happened.

That's what happened and will keep happening to future generations unless people stand up and say "this is bad for us and our kids". I doubt they will though, the average fukking moron is happy in their pathetic little pleasure cave.
This. Everyone's so damn addicted and so involved that they'd never be able to handle the withdrawals. Everyone is literally experiencing the same behaviors as a drug addict but it's worse because their whole life and existence has been comingled into these pieces of technology/social media.

Society is doomed. I hate to say it but it's looking bad boyos. Everyone is just entitled, self centered and doesn't acknowledge that anyone else is around them. We went from healthy human interaction to passive aggressive robots.

I don't even know what to talk to people about anymore. Plus you have to be overly nice or else they get offended and butt hurt.

Yeah you can't show any aggression and have to walk on egg shells because any little thing offends ppl

Idk how to socialize like that though I'm used to just being direct and joking about dumb chit all the time

Idk what happened man. I remember 10 years ago we had conversations that blew any convo i've heard since 2015 away. Talking deep intellectual discussions, debates, locker room talk and we could talk about 30 different things in the span of 4+ hours. You just never see this anymore. The average person couldn't even socialize for an hour straight nowadays it's impossible because of the phones and social media.
Exactly that, the social people don't know what they're doing. They're being all invasive and act overly dramatic. The whole image is off and they just look/sound like benders. Nobody know how to crack funny jokes like a quick funny story from what they've been doing lately. Todays rendition of that would be how they clicked 382663 times on their mouse today. People are pathetic I swear. For some reason a video popped up on YouTube "How to make people laugh", "Learn to fit in and be funny" etc. Can't even make this crap up, the people in the video are explaining this for like 15 minutes. Fully expecting it to have maybe 10000 views, no, it has over 5 million. Then these weirdo guys who literally ramble for 4 hours straight with their headphones on. They're like Tedtalks but on something called a podcast. It's the most dumbest thing I've ever seen in my whole life. It's not even radio talk, it's just pointless garbage and people really praise it.

How are people regressing, why do people need to learn how to act from the biggest retards on planet earth doing it for passive income. Look at those clowns, they try to talk all sophisticated and they just look like awkward nerds. As if they can teach anyone anything. 20 years ago they would've gotten beaten up for wasting peoples time.

Look at this video here. THIS is a man. This is exactly how guys looked, even his setup was epic. Just proper stuff. Notice his body language in the first 20 seconds, man this is how every guy would be. Just random and solid. No ***gy awkward movements.

Even the music this guy was listening to was good. Sucks to see how normal regular people were once upon a time. Now a quick workout video would be a 35 minute sponsored video made by a bunch of awkward guys and having weird rap music/feminine graphical features in the video.

Stuff is so crazy. People's typical lives are so strange/away from the norm.

Lol it was different, even when I had my SNES and GameCube and PlayStations, friends still came over. But XBox 360, Wii and PS3 were the 1st generation of games where online play became mainstream.

So my obese friends never wanted to leave the house, "is that on Live? Let's just do it online."

Yeah i've noticed the really extroverted people nowadays seem to have no respect for peoples boundaries, like a drunk person would act at a bar. All in your personal space and just acting strange. But like this is how a lot of people act now just out in the open. I think this happens because people are either on stuff to make them social or they legit just don't get much social interaction anymore because of social media. So they spaz out all the time. I mean i'm pretty introverted so going extended periods of time without socializing doesn't effect me much and i can still remain calm and collected, but for extroverted people i'm sure they don't know how to act when they can't constantly socialize thanks to everyone being on their phones in public now.

Yeah i noticed the macho man body language. You can tell right away he moves with a purpose and gets stuff done. Nowadays you just don't see this people are more uncoordinated and hunched over just walking aimlessly. Again, probably due to everyone just looking at screens all day. They forgot how to move.

Idk i just remember people being more upbeat back then. People walking around with attitude and a purpose even if it was the most boring thing. They didn't move all slow and aimlessly like now.

People stare at screen and watch Netflix. I have to go out of my way to socialize with people by going to concerts and sporting events where you actually interact with people without a screen. Of course at concerts everyone has their phone up recording the concert, but at least there's SOME interaction.
Yeah, I saw that movie. It was alright. Only because it had Tom Cruise in it. All the other characters had the most punchable faces ever.

Exactly, nobody does fun activities, everything involves some form of screen. Yeah, phones have ruined everything, I wouldn't go to any concert despite loving that scene. Music isn't good/random/crazy, nobody dresses up to play the part and the quality of people suck since they're glued to phones. Look at post #69, that post explains it all really.

Lol, did he rustle ur feathers. Sounds like you listed things from a brochure as opposed to actual activities. You know, ur around my Mums age and if she was at clubs/concerts I probably wouldn't talk to her.

Do you really do all those things? How long are you on screens of any kind per day?
