Got my javaon pretty geared. Doing a fking retarded amount of damage. But she's a one trick pony. Anything light resist and I'm depending on my merc and valk, which can be slow.

I'm using griffons which helps lower enemy light resist, but it's not enough. What I really need is Infinity for my merc. Aside from it being expensive AF, I'll run into another issue - mana. Currently Insight is the only thing keeping me going mana wise, so losing it for Infinity will 100% fk me.

Ideas??

Is there point in playing ladder?

I'd like to play but this ladder is nearly finished by the looks of things, and I don't want to start a char only to have it be obsolete in a month or so.

If you create a ladder character, at the end of the season it will be converted to a non ladder one. You won't lose anything.

What kind if item stats do I benefit from when given to my merc?
For example if I give him a weapon that has mana steal % per hit, do I get that as well? I don't think so, correct?

No mana or lifesteal. No enhanced damage etc. that's all only when he hits. You'd get auras he gets from items though, which is why Insight runeword early on and then Infinity runeword are very good on him.

yeah cheers brah

but when i mean is, say i want to play next ladder season. it seems a bit dumb to start a character now and invest all the time in it only to start again when the new ladder starts

mana per kill/mana steal on rings. Manald Heal is actually a really good inexpensive option.

learn to chug mana pots

Phoenix runeword (expensive)

try using silkweave boots, soul drainer gloves, magefist (if you have a decent mana pool) or frostburns. Get mana charms + mana regen.

also re-consider areas where you are farming. if enemies aren't lightning resistant, consider getting a Valkyrie Wing helmet and add a Tir rune. Mana problems instantly solved. but it depends what you are trying to achieve.

If you are just MFing/levelling, avoid areas with lightning resist mobs, plenty of areas without that. Or have a strong enough merc that can deal with those. Chaos sanctuary is such a good place for a Javazon. You can also go hybrid with poison but that will reduce your kill speed for more versatility.

However you are going to have to accept that all classes/builds have their weaknesses unless you have the very best gear possible for you and your merc. Consider other characters if there is specific content you want to complete/farm.

Nah the -lightning res is just for whoever is wielding the weapon, so the merc. You would benefit from the lvl 12 conviction aura he gives off from the weapon, which is a - resitance aura.

What char though? Not every char needs an infinity on their merc though. It's just needed really end game for chars doing elemental damage so you can lower their resistance and even break immunes.

It's for my Javazon. She hits hard as fk, but anything light resist I have to rely purely on physical dmg and what my merc/valk can do. And since my merc is dmg handicapped by the garbage Insight he's using for my mana, he doesn't hit that hard.

I have Titans and Thunderstroke both. Using Thunderstroke because of the -15% enemy light resist. I feel like it does more damage than Titans, but the smaller stack and non regeneration blows big time.

I can't take Insight off my merc for Infininty until I can figure out what to do about my mana once Insight is gone. I really don't want to be forced to chug mana pots every 5 seconds.

Paladin brahs, what's your thoughts on hammer vs fist of the heavens build?

I did a hammer build and...I dunno, but I feel like it's ass lol. It hits for 6K on budget gear, but...I feel like it doesn't actually hit anything a lot of the time. I don't know but I have other characters that do half the damage and are WAY more efficient at killing. I don't know wtf I'm doing wrong, but I'm not liking the hammer chit as of now.

FoH is very good now. Do you have an enigma on your Hammerdin though? Only way that build will work. I respecd my Hammerdin to FoH a while back. It's way more fun, and the bolts seek enemies out and clears way faster. sounds like you'll enjoy it more. Perfect for farming Chaos.

my thought is hammerdin > FoHdin with better gear

with more budget gear FoHdin > hammerdin

plus fist of the heavens IMO is more fun. Sure you are a bit more limited in where you can farm but they can easily farm Chaos Sanctuary and Pits which are great places.

you'll probably like FoH alot better, I know I did when I switched.

I have Enigma on another char. But I could give it to my Pally if it's that crucial to the build. What makes Enigma so good for a hammerdin?

For positioning. You tele onto the pack and unleash hammers. It makes the build night and day way more efficient and faster. But as of now FoH is the way to go for PvM.

I just started a trap assassin named Kara for season 2.

Honestly the whole ladder thing is rigged. level 89 characters already at the top of the ladder two days after season 2 started. hOW? It's rigged. Being at the top is meaningless.
