Critical Drinker is pretty smart and on point most of the time.

I typically hate reviewers but he's really down to Earth and smart.

Connery and Moore had 1 or 2 bad ones (Diamonds, Octupussy, A view to kill), on the other hand Dalton, Brosnan and Craig only each had 1 good one (Living daylights, Goldeneye, Casino) though i found the other Brosnan ones entertaining enough

Watch goldfinger. If you don't like it then you won't like any of the old ones.

Absolutely. I fuking love bond movies.

Imo the best are goldeneye and casino royale. All the daniel craig movies are awesome because the movies have more of a “depth” to the story.

The two timothy dalton movies are great.

Obviously the goat connery movies are awesome but can feel dated to some viewers.

Every pierce brosnan movie aside from goldeneye imo sucked.

Roger moore movies were mostly lackluster.

Start with the Pierce Brosnan and Craig ones and then go back and watch the others. I enjoyed them all.

My grandfather was an NFL player/coach his whole life and decently known in his time period and a big celebrity in Wisconsin when he played/coached for the packers. He was also the kind of playboy of the team and very aesthetic and looked like "James Bond" would. He LOVED James Bond too and I would watch them with him all the time growing up. He was definitely 100x classier and more sophisticated than I am and extremely experienced in life after being in the limelight so much.
Just saying all that to say that his die hard favorites were Connery and Moore. I liked Moore the most but like Connery as well.

Roger Moore plays the role more realistically. Daniel Craig plays it more like a video game, unkillable super soldier where all the bad guys shoot like storm troopers.

Watched Austin Powers before watching any of the old bond movies and I think seeing them after makes them even more funny. The Judo Chop. Sean Connery in Dr No says he's well versed in Judo and then just chops everyone lol

Really? Interesting. Imo you see daniel craig as bond get fukt up good in every movie whereas roger moore always has perfect hair after fight scene.

Plus, craig never dresses up as clown or does a tarzan yell while he crosses the jungle trees lmaooo.

In a way ya it is unrealistic, but that is the entire point of bond (and any action movie). Clearly bond wouldnt be able to shoot down a helicopter from a boat with a handgun lol, and jon wick wouldnt be able to kill 3 men in a bar with a pencil…

Meh...the entire Christian religion was founded upon a 13 year old "virgin", married to some 30 year old dude, and she swore that "God" knocked her up.

If that isn't Hollywood....

Every version is entertaining. I'd start with Connery, then go to Craig. If you want to finish the rest after that, go ahead, but those are the best.

Are you doubting the power of God?

I'm sure he did knock her up. Through a couple of his priests.

Everyone knocks the campiness of Moore's Bond because they don't understand the character. Bond is someone who faces death every moment of every day, whether he's worrying about someone with a grudge sneaking up on him or he's got to take another life no matter how deserved it is. Everything about Bond is a coping mechanism. He drinks to dull the pain. He sleeps with every woman he can to help release the tension. And that clownish buffoonery keeps him from taking himself too seriously and sinking into darkness.

I will add that From Russia With Love is underrated whenever this discussion comes up. SPECTRE plays Bond that whole movie and he knows it. But Bond rolls with it because the Soviet tech they hook him with is too much of a prize. You spend half the movie watching Bond plan how he's going to outsmart SPECTRE, and the second half implementing that plan and hoping it works. Someone mentioned the intrigue of the Connery films, FRWL is one of the best at it.

James Bond movies are particularly hilarious, you got a guy No muscles ugly chest hair who is British so definitely bad breath and bad teeth, somehow always gets hit on by beautiful women, never gets an STD, never gets anyone pregnant, never gets stabbed by a jealous boyfriend, always wins hand to hand fight versus anyone, always shoots extremely accurately even from a very inaccurate tiny handgun, Can operate any vehicle on land water or air, always wears a $5000 suit, always drives the latest expensive cars, delivers corny predictable one-liners, and people actually watch this stupid shiet. What an autistic take on a work of fiction. You sound like the type of guy who would start screaming during the middle of a Fast and Furious movie that akchyually cars can't do that.

Not to mention claiming that chicks at the time wouldn't be attracted to Connery, Moore or Brosnan is just going full retard. No need to project your taste in men.
