Like I said in my above post, muscle tension and resulting chronic nerve irritation can trigger migraines, but it is still distinct and extremely severe compared to a tension headache.
pretty much all my headaches turn to migraines now. but i know the feeling so i catch it pretty early and take some chit and it usually helps

pretty sure they differ in severity brah. they have cluster headaches too

i remember one day i felt SO bad. like curling up in a ball, nauseous, any light hurt, feeling like i was going to throw up, i had chills, was completely white.. but i had to go to work. and at lunch i took 2 excedrin migraine and felt better than i did normally ha

Anyone recommending tylenol, excedrin migraine (which is only named excedrin migraine because most people don't know what an actual migraine is), and stupid **** like that has never had a migraine.

I've had them. Used to be almost monthly and coincided with my period. Sensitivity to light, sensitivity to odors, nausea... But I only remember one that was really debilitating. Seemed to fade out over the years and it's rare now, though I found out that I can get visual migraine sometimes which is the visual effects/sensitivity/nausea but without the pain.

My grandfather went through a period of having cluster headaches which I was told are much worse.

This is my first ever migraine that wasn't just a bad headache or tension headache. I maybe get 5 headaches a year if even at this point. So this experience has thrown me for a loop.

I basically just did what you did and curled up in a ball and slept almost this entire time and moaning like a small child.
Yep. It's called migraine with aura or classic migraine. In my case, it starts about an hour before the pain kicks in. My vision gets completely obscured by zig zagging pixelated lines and bright spots. That lasts for about 30 minutes. The pain kicks in around 30 minutes after my vision clears up. Just enough time to try to prepare for what's coming.

Same. Tbh I kinda hate the precursor more than the pain, because you know the hell that’s about to come.

Here's the real deal

You take acetaminophen (Tylenol) 500mg every 4 hours.
Along with that ibuprofen 600mg every 4 hours
You can take them together.
You also need caffeine. Pills or drink.
Hydrate, keep stomach full. Stay in mostly dark, stay away from screens

I'm in medicine and get migraines with visual auras.

Go get a ice cold slushy/slurpee from a gas station and drink it as fast as possible to induce brain freeze. Do this multiple times and it will stun/neutralize your migraine. Studies have shown this works.

Don't think migrane medication works well. Ergot or whatever it's called works. I'd research carefully before trying any strong substances.

Are you dehydrated

I though most people knew about this simple fix.
There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!
