I think I run like a retard or have something wrong with my feet because I swear I injure myself, or my body breaks down more, doing lots of cardio compared to actually lifting

I mean if you think going to the gym in and of itself will directly cure your broken car and lack of job, then you don't understand half of the point of going to the gym in the first place.

First of all it helps chemically. That's established science. Your brain is a happier brain from exercise.

Second of all, it helps biomechanically which in turns helps in your day to day. You're happier when you're capable. The end.

Health goes goes up, digestive system goes up, etc. etc.

the positives are countable, but they are high.

Probably the BIGGEST thing that is supposed to "Fix" your depression, is that when you see the results of your hard work, you experience a paradigm shift that says you are responsible for your own outcomes.

All of these things are what aids in the fixing of depression.

This is the reason why most of the autists on the misc are lifting and doing nothing else.

When doing any kind of movement that requires even minute amounts of athleticism, they fall apart faster than Muzzlrpress's physique when he's showing his calves

Smartest take you've had on this forum.

A majority of people have little to zero understanding of how it works or the importance of mental health in general.

Running (not sprinting) requires athleticism? That's something new.

I like lifting, but it doesn't really do much as far as making me feel physically or mentally better.

Cardio mogs lifting in that regard imo.

I’m sure your advice would be to go speak to a therapist and be prescribed some pills right?

If you’re truly depressed the best thing you can do is to start being productive whether that’s lifting, running, going hard at work, whatever … set goals, attack them and depression goes away

Unfortunately these things are hard to do while depressed but if you’re a man you will suck it up and do these things and conquer your mind and depression

Leave the therapy and pills for the women

lol I've always gotten a better natural high from lifting over cardio. Even at 20. I still do cardio. Lol at thinking I'd shatter falling down stairs. I've been lifting for 30 years.

You trying to separate depression in to femininity and masculinity really proves just how ignorant you are.

Men and women are inherently different so separating depression into subcategories based on sex is valid.

Gender subcategories in how it's experienced would be valid because you're right that the two genders are inherently different.

But you went as far as assuming a man has to "handle" it a certain way. Which is ignorant, andwrongin my opinion.

A man does have to handle it a certain way. It’s a god given gift to be born a man. We are less emotional, produce testosterone, are more goal oriented, physically stronger so not tackling depression like a man through action is an insult to your masculinity.

Women are nurturing, less goal oriented, emotional and like to talk about their feelings so maybe therapy is more suitable for them.

The bolded is an absolutely skewed line of reasoning.

I was going to PT for leg #1 for like 2 years, so it got too strong I think, and the imbalance fked up leg #2.

Also led to my shoulder issue (chitty sitting posture accommodating leg#1), but fingers crossed I"m finally getting over that now after a year and a half. Legs still MIA tho.

Agreed. Also feel the same way about certain aspects of self-improvement like reading or meditating. If you procrastinate then your problem isn't reading enough books, you just need to stop putting chit off to the last second. The only thing that cures depression is facing your problems head-on.

Lifting feels great while you're doing it & right after but it should be a supplement to a fulfilling life. Think that's where a lot of us miscers goof'd a bit earlier in life so now there's a lot of depressed greek gods posting every day.
Do not think that what is hard for you to master is humanly impossible; and if it is humanly possible, consider it to be within your reach.

Voidgaze is probably at most, on a good day, at like 300 ng/dl. So you're currently debating someone with the hormonal profile of a post menopause woman.

Good luck with that.

I suspect Brad is on the NPD spectrum or at the very least has those tendencies, srs.

The way he speaks reeks of childhood emotional neglect.

There's no need to deny it because my stronger sense of self (in comparison to yours) knows that it isn't true.

Stronger sense of self, yet you're the miscer I've noticed getting into the most amount of internet beef lately on the misc. And how sad is that really, arguing on the internet, instead of having a laugh and doing some friendly banter.
