TSLA earnings next week. Couple things to consider:

has all the bad news been priced in? A lot of talk...moving forward, TSLA will not push deliveries leading up to earnings so consequently this quarter's 'miss' in deliveries (even though sales are up) will cancel out next quarter. Previous quarters they would focus on getting every last car into the hands of the buyers therefore it would be recognized on paper for the quarter. Moving that portion of recognized sales to the next quarter would cancel out any 'miss'. Why is this important? A mad rush in resources are required in a short period of time, increasing costs and decreasing margin.

tsla and Elon have fallen out of favor and will be punished harder than any numbers would warrant. That's just the way it goes. Market is irrational.

market does not like twtr purchase.

IF Elon has been selling tsla to fund twtr then when that selling ends, price can move freely. That is IF, have not seen any 13F to confirm.

tsla short interest is peaking. What usually follows is an increase in price, similar to when VIX peaks.

Any bad news in earnings or macro environment, global catasrophe, etc. will increase volatility in an already volatile stock and punish price.

Will look to get back in at 187.50. TSLA 20ma on daily is roughly 187.38 so good possibility it will dip back down sometime this week. If not will do 187.50csp.

My goog Dec02 88cc was deep itm so rolled to Dec09.


This week will be interesting. Will SPY reject off upper trendline and VIX shoot up or are we in for a rally? Does Santa rally start now or do we have another week of battle and wait for Dec opex to find out? Have SPY Dec07 392P so I'm hoping for a dip. Big gap on SPY at about 372ish so that is looming.

you're looking at news all wrong.

News is a signal for timing, it is not the catalyst. If there is a BIG rally or dip, it has already been planned way ahead of the news. The news is the point when that rally or dip occurs (much of the time when BIG moves occur, jmho). Whales make the move, retail follows, media tries to explain what happened.

WW3 is a black swan event so you can't plan for that.

Priced in move is different because it's already been adjusted...everyone has built they're position.

SPY rejected off trendline as I expected right to a T. Closed 392P too early - only net of about 700.

Rolled goog 88cc to Dec16 for additional $0.60 premium x4.

Bought back in on TSLA and sto 172.50c x14 for net 2450 not including stock appreciation. Will let get called away. Also had TSLA 200c x6 for another 750ish.


Another interesting week coming. Santa rally still on bull's mind. I have a feeling grinch is gonna steal Christmas. QQQ and SPY looking bearish on daily but looking bullish on weekly (though could easily turn over if we have a bad week). TSLA not looking great so will be mostly out and now 50% cash. May look at a swing position on SQQQ.

QQQ was a bit of a nail biter last 1/2 hour. Not sure what will happen next week so am happy to let my SQQQ get called away. I suspect Monday pop and then trade sideways all week going into Christmas week but not planning to play anything. I MAY take on some OTM TSLA CSP for a little cash but otherwise no plans.

Nicely done! I really didn't see the move to nearly $410 coming leading into the early part of the week, but wish I would have moved harder into short term puts. I've been expecting a lot of negative data points and sentiment... But the tough thing is without big negative surprises it is difficult to get the timing for puts correct. Holding some longer dated puts, but I think I am still gonna end up too early in WBA and SBUX puts.

so, thankfully I didn't take on TSLA CSP. It's looking like near capitulation. The next few days will tell. Will not be a buyer until there is a definite buy signal.

Took another swing position on SQQQ. Target of 263 QQQ gap fill hit called on Discord on Dec07.

End of first week of January/beginning of second week may see a pop on SPY and QQQ with target of 20ma on daily (roughly 397.57 and 285.83 gap fills respectively) so I'd like to be out of SQQQ by then and rebuy when target is hit.

QQQ consolidating between 263 and 266 gap fill so SQQQ shares did not get called away.

Rolled the GOOG to jan06 89c for additional 0.89 x4 premium.

58.00 might be close but hoping all get called away. I think there is a good chance QQQ dips below 260 tomorrow and possibly test 258.50, maybe next week. But I still believe a QQQ rally is looming, albeit minor and very short lived. So again, looking to have shares called away and then by back on QQQ pop. Lots of intraday opportunity for $0.75-1.00 scalps but unfortunately I couldn't see where the buy and sell zones were until late in the week. By then I was committed to 56 and 58cc, sold at low premiums.
