Please, Ronaldinho is the most skilled player to ever grace a football pitch.

Now if you say accomplished, that would be Messi but he does not possess more technical ability than prime Ronaldinho.

Did you watch him play? I doubt it.

He also only played 2 games during one of those WC wins and played in much, much better teams than either Maradona and Messi. Lastly, he also never played in any European domestic league to see how he would go playing there on a weekly basis.

I have seen Maradona play - I was 8 years old in Buenos Aires when Argentina won the World Cup - and up until recently I would have said Maradona was the GOAT. Now, I need to change my opinion and say that it is Messi that is the GOAT.

Portuguese Ronaldo easily wins the eye test when it comes to soccer all time greats.

It’s like in basketball, somebody like Bill Russell can shut down the entire offense of the opposing team, but it doesn’t look like he’s doing anything spectacular, so nobody compares him to Michael Jordan or even other great players, I understand people are on Messi’s nuts now, because his team won today, But he’s simply not a flashy player, not flashy enough to be compared to a couple of other flashier greats.

In soccer it’s almost like if you dont do a bicycle kick, then you don’t qualify for a goat discussion. Like it or not.

Which sports?

Basketball: MJ

Hockey: Gretzky

Football: Only active GOAT candidate is Brady and that's cause he's got 7 fukkin rings

Baseball: no idea but definitely not an active player. Babe Ruth, Barry Bonds or Hank Aaron maybe?

Soccer: Messi

Only one's are soccer and football and both of them have players who are far and away the most decorated players in the history of their sport.
