I think your point of view on this is too narrow sighted tbh. You say that you dont care until it is north america that is threatened, but are you aware that escalation in europe can and would directly result in the US being at war?


If no economic/military (military as in aid, not direct involvement) pushback was given, whos to say that this wouldnt have resulted in further escalation in nato countries who are in similar situations as ukraine was? Ill tell you whos to say, no one… because it was a very real possibility.

No amount of conflict with russia is a good thing, but if we need to pushback on them to prevent a potentially wider much more catastrophic war in europe then i want to imagine that any rational person can agree on this.

If russia had been allowed to steamroll ukraine, the risk of breakout conflicts in regions like the balkans or the baltics would have been much much higher.


Think about it this way bro, when russia invaded georgia did anyone think it would mean further conflict in europe? No. Why would it? Russia obviously has no desire to invade ukraine, right?

If nato had pushed back on the georgia conflict, maybe it would have made russia think twice before rolling into crimea, which would have prevented all of this.

Russia annexed Crimea because Crimeans wanted to leave Ukraine because Ukraine made it insufferable for Russians. How is this hard to comprehend?

Ukraine passed really bullchit language laws and had fascists marching in the streets. The Russians in Ukraine were sick of the "anticommunist" fascist movements that had taken over.

they got what they wanted and left, no need to take all of georgia. but that doesnt mean that all russia was/is looking for in ukraine is the donbas.

ukraine mad it insufferable for russians? wtf are you talking about? when was there wide spread conflict between russians and ukrainians in crimea before russias involvement? i know for a fact thats horse**** because i have a russian client here in toronto whos from sevastopol and what he has told me completly contradicts that.


and by this logic, then what if the ethinic russian majority regions of the baltic states decide they want to leave and join russia because "anticommunism" and "fascism"? what do we as nato do about that?

I was thinking now that if Putin and his political technologists had come up with "anti-Communists" instead of "fascists" in 2014, he would have gotten at least 5% support from people over 70 in Ukraine, instead of 0% now.
