Night life and dating is abysmal. Part of the reason I'm looking to leave. However if you're in your 40's, well off enough to buy a house outright and work part time or retire early and married or done with dating, totally recommend it.
If there isn’t a crash we’ll be leaving TX which I never thought I’d really consider until this past year.

The state ranks in the middle for education for the country IIRC, and Wyoming does have a much lower crime rate compared to the rest of the country too. In your situation, I'd consider moving IMHO. Casper, Gillette, Laramie, Cheyenne, Glenrock and Cody are places I'd look into. Good luck on your search for you and your family. In on coldcel thread. It's getting down to 14 degrees tonight here. Do I need to do anything other than unhook the water hoses, let the water drip in the sink and wrap the outdoor faucets? I have very little experience other than the great southern freeze of Feb 2021

Actual temp this morning was -42 here in Wyoming. At around 2pm it was -20 with 30mph wind. Brutal.
Still love it here. The chit weather keeps a lot of the California out. And I get this to myself all summer long.

Is my tour over? Hopefully my sheepskin wagon will retain heat from the wood stove.
