Option 1: Go to a car parts shop to buy a new alternator and swap it out yourself.
Option 2: Take it someone who specializes in repairing alternators and electronics in vehicles and get them to look at it.
Option 3: Get bent over and asked to pay about triple what the job is actually worth at a shop.

Pro tip: He will when the alternator isn’t charging the battery.[/QUOTE]So you’re just assuming he has a manual?
Also the car will barely drive and eventually bog out even if he gets it’s started if the alternator is toast
