Put it in neutral, roll down hill, shove into second gear and pop the clutch.

Or get a new alternator

Option 1: Go to a car parts shop to buy a new alternator and swap it out yourself.

Option 2: Take it someone who specializes in repairing alternators and electronics in vehicles and get them to look at it.

Option 3: Get bent over and asked to pay about triple what the job is actually worth at a shop.

Pro tip: He will when the alternator isn’t charging the battery.[/QUOTE]So you’re just assuming he has a manual?

Also the car will barely drive and eventually bog out even if he gets it’s started if the alternator is toast

It's really not that hard either, unless the alternator is placed in a very difficult to access spot. There are tons of places to get refurbished/used parts if feeling cheap too.
