you run a mile in 12 mins meaning you run half a mile in 6 mins but you need to ensure you run an extra half mile in 3 mins how long till the train reaches the station.

Yes. 10 minute mile pace is nothing if you train for it (even just for 3 weeks). I'm old, fat, and have bad knees, but give me three weeks and I do a 10 minute pace for a mile and a half.

12 minute pace is 5MPH. That's like speed walking.

Yes but you need to train on a track and get your per mile times into the 9 min range range.
Get new running shoes from a shop that fits you, and run daily to get your lungs ready for the faster pace.
Good luck!

The average one mile time is 10 minutes.

My one mile time is 6 minutes and I’m pretty fit.

So it’s perfectly doable if you haven’t been rotting.

Run 2.5-3 miles daily. Take two days off right before the run. You’ll be fine.

My 1.5 mile time was 9 mins 30 secs back when I was in the army and I didn’t even really consider that as anything amazing, just kinda standard. The females pass time was 13 mins. How unfit would you have to be, to not even be able do it in 15 mins? Srs.

It is super doable. That's a 10 minute mile pace, you could essentially walk half of it

it's highly doable.
My guess is you don't run at all and find this intimidating.
It might suck the first time you run but You can do this in a week easily.
