i did WFH for a bit. it was great at first but it wasn't true freedom because I could't get out and about. always tied to the computer and or phone email. all that downtime got old quick too. rather be busy doing things.

This is true, but all of the conveniences and shyt that comes with working from home >>>> going into the office. I have to go in one day a week, and that's nice for a change of scenery and whatnot but...wouldn't care to do more at this point.

I also have a job of that description where you can get away with doing very little overall. It is fairly easy, but unfulfilling and the week goes slowly. I don't want to look back 10 years from now and ask myself "what did I achieve with the last 10 years?" and not want to answer.

I don't earn big bucks or anything...enough to pay my expenses basically. I couldn't afford a new car or to move to better house or anything.

LMAO @ everyone who thinks working in a office is "fulfilling" or whatever. So many people coping here. Have been working in an office for the past 8 years and since covid had WFH. It saves so much time and i am basically my own boss now. I go once a week in the office for a couple of hours and its fine. If anyone has the opportunity to WFH, you 100% should do it really is a life saver

The only advantage of going into the office is stealing packets of coffee, creamer, office supplies, toilet paper, napkins, utensils, and perving out female coworkers.... but that gets old quick.


WFH saves so much in gas money, eating out, and the mental health impact of commuting.

I think a career should be a constant progression. Should be learning something all of the time and sometimes it's out of the comfort zone and sometimes isn't the best pay but you progress in so many ways. I've been beating myself up advancing myself and looking back 10 years it's not really comparable.

If we go into recession where competition for jobs rises, a lot of people in cozy well paid jobs are going to the the one's hurt the most. I remember last recession

Mostly WFH since COVID hit. Also did very little most of the time, had to go to the office 1x per week which is when I got most of my work done so I even looked busy to other people lol. It was a good run.

Now I'm in new project which is expected to have me extremely bus. Was sad when they told me but I'm coping thinking that since I was doing nothing productive with all the free time it will be better to do some actual work which will:

-Look well on my resume
-Make me very visible to the higher ups
-Improve my odds of a promotion

As I said probably cope, but what can you do.

it got old being home all day. i need to get out and about. i enjoy picking out my outfit for day. i like the prep that goes into making my lunch. i love the car ride to work.

Obviously this isn't all miscers - but some people are able to get either a lot done or the important things others can't done while putting forth very little effort. The average human is a complete doofus. Every 1:1 I have with my manager I expect it to be the time I get called out for not doing much, but every time I get told I'm doing a fantastic job and to keep it up.
