never heard of AA?
Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.

This.

Miscers are potato if they think NDT is not an intelligent man or got his degrees because of AA. He’s a knowledgeable person in the field of astronomy and physics. I really enjoy listening. Unfortunately he’s taken it upon himself to preach virtue signal politics and push HARD for the Rona vax in recent years. It’s sad. I think he is also taking some sort of uppers because lately he’ll just interrupt at inappropriate times and get belligerent easily. If you listen to his talks from 5-10 years ago he was MUCH more coherent, eloquent and articulate. Something went wrong with NDT during the pandemic.

the problem with these so called "educated" people is that when they get a PhD in a field, they allow their own narcissism and arrogance to get the better of them. as if they are some super exceptional and super smart human being and god's gift to humanity. when the truth is, nobody outside of your field really knows or cares about your contributions and it is small in the grand scheme of things.

this leads to them not staying in their lane and thinking that because they have a PhD, they are qualified and intelligent enough to even have an opinion or talk about subjects that are completely out of their expertise as if they are concrete and factual and promote it.

If you have enough time, the ability to sit still to read and a triple digit IQ you can get a PhD.

He's not going to try to explain the technical aspects to lay people. You don't have the requisite math to understand anything. No offense.

He used to teach physics at Princeton.

Anyway, if you are interested in technical details, here you go

https://youtube.com/@lecturesbywalterlewin.they9259

Check his playlists and watch the 8.01, 8.02, and 8.03 lectures.

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...q2LAS2QMFDPQM-

solved elementary E&M problems

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...kzhqq9c5cHCK32
Atomic physics

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5E4E56893588CBA8

Classical Mechanics

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...JFq26OScZJr17e

Unfortunately, complete lecture sets for E&M are hard to find. This one looks excellent, but it's unfortunately in Hindi. Good luck.

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...KRrt5t_GPx2sRg

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...NJiO0UCUmY0Ts7

These two appear to be a standard stat mech course.

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...k3Ip04Ofg7B22W
More stat mech

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...9dYRPiyVWDd80G

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0F530F3BAF8C6FCC

QM

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...2tR8GNIkyRIKpW
Optics

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...HmKKgin_rqGzbx

This one is GR.

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...CTVvGAMIlXL88Y

QFT

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...978llIsvjKW0au

Nuclear and Particle Physics.

Anyway, basically just search nptel or mit ocw for class notes on the chit you want to learn. The only place you won't find good lecture vids is for Classical Electrodynamics. For whatever reason, no one has good lectures.

Anyway, if you dgaf about lectures and want to read, you can read Halliday Resnick Walker's Physics book or Sears and Zemansky's physics book for all the basic chit. Read Taylor's classical mechanics book. Then read griffiths qm and e&m books. Read schroeder's thermal physics book. Read Hecht Optics, and then read griffiths particle physics book. There's a really good book on atomic and nuclear physics, but I can't remember the name. It might be Krane's book, but not sure. I'll check later. Edit: Yea Krane Modern Physics is good, but the book I was actually thinking of was Eisberg and Resnick's book.

All that is basically equivalent to an advanced undergrad physics degree and then some. You probably also would need to know some pchem and biophysics as well. I included GR and QFT and particle physics lectures above just so you can see what the classes are like. You wouldn't be able to attempt them until you read all the aforementioned books.

For the more advanced stuff, read goldstein, jackson, peskin & schroeder, ashcroft and mermin, and the big black Gravitation book by misner thorne and wheeler

Guess what? After ALL that, you are barely ready to start understanding cosmology chit.

A physics BA from Harvard is more elite. I'm sure some diversity was also involved, since he said he did not have the highest test scores, and more perfect scores than spots at schools like Harvard exist each year.

Astrophysics is less competitive than physics, as far as I know.

Both would more or less pass anyone who tried to make diversity marks.

I took an astronomy class in college.

I thought it would be great but it's really a boring and almost entirely theoretical subject.

The general public likes to see fake pictures of space and hear fantasy stories about what's "out there" but really celestial objects are math problems and no one knows what they are. For instance, I remember doing math problems about a "Pulsar" and what the object is was based on X-Ray pulses and so everything is like "Steinberg's Theory says" and it was a bunch of math nonsense to conclude what we "know" (we don't) something looks like, and why.

You can't go on talk shows and say all of that sh!t because people will fall asleep.

I never liked Tyson and saw him as a "black guy" who is supposed to be a science expert. All he does is repeat the same things about "evidence" and so on. I know that's "science" but it's also stupid.

There's plenty of subjects "science" doesn't cover and we cannot do a "study" for every single thing we can clearly see and determine to be true.

Being good at doing and understanding math has little to do with being intelligent regarding life issue.

If you look at the Rogan clip, it seconds, without rehearsal, Rogan shows he understands humanity and the math wiz is sitting there like "Ah, I nevah thought of dat".

Theoretical physics and whatever is autistic, it's not "intellectual".

An intellectual is to the mind as an athlete is to the body.

Only glanced through the thread so mostly responding to the OP.

NDT is smart enough to know that talking about the finer points of physics on podcasts/TV isn't a good route to making money.

In general, a person doesn't have to be particularly gifted to get a PhD, but the dumber you are, the harder you will have to work, and there is a cutoff somewhere below which you just aren't going to grasp advanced concepts. Physics has one of the highest cutoffs in my opinion. I don't think there are very many of below average intelligence with PhDs in physics. NDT does seem pretty full of himself, but also very intelligent. PhD courses of study are very specific. Getting one does suggest a person is better than average at reasoning but doesn't indicate they have any particular expertise in unrelated fields.
