Lacks seasoning and sauce you're about to use looks generic.

8/10.

the tortillas block nearly all of the absorption of the zinc in the shrimp due to an interaction between phytic acid, Ca(OH)2 (from the nixtamalization process) and zinc making a phytate-zinc-calcium complex that can't be absorbed

cheers

The shrimp are Costco garlic and lime and that’s Valentina hot sauce. It’s heavy in flavor.

I don’t skimp on anything flavor wise, ever.

Maize is one of the lower phytic acid foods especially considering the tortillas I use are made locally, fresh so even lower.

And phytic acid doesn’t block ALL of the absorption. It blocks some depending on level. Fresh maize is low.

nah, brah, u'd be right about maize but i'm speaking specifically about nixtamalmaxxed tortillas

not that shrimp contain mind-blowing amounts of zinc, just that if u wanna say high test meal, that's principle among the test micros

this info is only particularly relevant if you are a tortillamaxxer and eat them in every meal

at that point u could actually instigate an insufficiency in spite of you eating a bunch of beef or whatever with them

9/10 then. Let me know how to it taste. I've never cook shrimp at home and rarely eat it if anything. Gotta learn because chicken gets boring sometimes.

The only reliable data I can find on unhealthy fat is seed oils with high polyunsaturated fat content (soybean, canola, etc...). It's due to the double bonds in the fatty acid chain being a reactive/unstable site which can form toxic compounds (trans fats, 4-HNE) during the processing/heating.

Will eating crackers with raw oysters have the same effect negating zinc uptake?

Definitely not a tortillamaxer but I only eat fresh local tortillas. They grind up the maize there and have a machine roll them out. So it’s fresh lowering any phytic acid.

High test is due to large amounts of monounsaturated fatty acids in the avocado. Plus zinc and selenium in the shrimp, not to mention dietary cholesterol.

All combined, high test.

No.

It would be minimal. Ratty is completely wrong about saying it negates ALL minerals. It does impact to some degree but it is blown out of proportion and oysters contain a massive amount of zinc.
