It’s no surprise though, because people who created these bad outcomes want to deny they did anything wrong because of the implications, and are even asking for amnesty because of their crimes. I guess I understand, because of the penalties are harsh.

I didn't trust Trump and the task force, remember this was March 13th 2020, so Republicans and Trump were in charge then.....
Which means that they all did what you claim in your writings above.
Did you forget the term of the Trump presidency?

From Jan 20th 2017 to january 20th 2021.

I'm not sure why you're directing your arguments against me personally. None of what your wrote proses any alternative strategies.

Many people died. Many people suffered from health impacts of infection and many are still suffering from health impacts of (repeated) infection.

Vaccines and masking both help.

What should have been done? What would a better strategy be for next time?

We should wear two masks, with a face shield, we should close down salad/hot bars, and have everyone only go outside when it's absolutely necessary......

That sounds even more restricted than what was done in many places. Are you upset because you feel policies should have been more strict?

Forget it. This requires logic and critical thinking skills. They don’t even understand what logic is in the first place, let alone the ability to use it. They have all the information they need, but lack the ability to put it all together.

As Thomas Sowell has said, this is the result of dumbed down education.

Ok you keep talking and hopefully they listen to you.
I don't need to get any corrupt politician's attention. The CDC and Fauci destroyed themselves. Trust in public health is damaged for generations. Most of the aggressive actions were taken AFTER it was known the virus wasn't 1/10th as deadly as suggested. Schools remained closed across the country and the CDC convinced them all to have no in-person learning months after it was known the virus was no risk to kids. We knew that by early April. We knew by the end of April 2020 the virus had at least a 99.7 to 99.8% survival rate. The differences by age groups were terribly blurred by evil paniccels for months, even after solid data was available.

We knew by late summer of 2020 the lockdowns were going to cause more deaths than the virus. They continued on anyway. By the time the "15 days to slow the spread" in early April began we already knew China had trolled us with their fake videos. There was plenty of reason to doubt the "excess deaths from overwhelmed hospital" hypothesis. We also knew by the end of the summer that doctors across the world were unintentionally killing patients by using too many ventilators.

Precautions in March, forgivable. By April we knew there was more hype than justified, but tyrants gonna be tyrants.

A frequent phrase is "we just didn't know back then." Fuk you, liars. You guys were told, data showing it wasn't nearly as deadly as the hype was available. You guys simply would only listen to the most hysteria driven people.

Covid doesn't significantly increase those. Once again you don't understand what you read. Over 100 million infections in the US in 2020 alone. By now a minimum of 600 million infections in the US alone. If risk were beyond very mild we'd have an absolute horror show.

The study specifically looked at the effects of covid reinfection and assessed changes in HR for those outcomes.

Can you share support for the claim that most viral and bacterial infections do the same?

And I know they have the shortest of memories, but for three weeks during the St Floyd riots, Covid was pretty much non-existent, until the day after he was buried.

So what is the correct interpretation?

"Compared to those with no reinfection, those who had reinfection exhibited an increased risk of all-cause mortality (HR = 2.17, 95% CI = 1.93–2.45) and excess burden of all-cause mortality estimated at 19.33 (95% CI = 15.34–23.82) per 1,000 persons at 6 months; all burden estimates represent excess burden and are given per 1,000 persons at 6 months. People with a reinfection also had an increased risk of hospitalization (HR = 3.32, 95% CI = 3.13–3.51; a burden of 100.19 (92.53–108.25)) and having at least one sequela of SARS-CoV-2 infection (HR = 2.10, 95% CI = 2.04–2.16; a burden of 235.91 (225.54–246.34))."

You claimed this is the same for most viral and bacterial re-infections. Can you share some data on HR's of the assessed outcomes for a few viral and bacterial re-infections?

It hasn't been a serious issue even for the elderly in over a year. Very few of the deaths cited are deaths from Covid. 90% of the people in the hospital with a Covid infection since Omicron are there for unrelated reasons, so drawing a conclusion about their infection and issues they have while hospitalized is junk. How do you not know these things? It's way less serious than seasonal flu. On a per infection basis it's also way, way less dangerous then RSV.

At the end of the day, you were still lied to.
.“The evidence is clear,” Redfield’s successor, Rochelle Walensky, insisted in November 2021, when she averred that wearing a mask “reduc(es) your chance of infection by more than 80%.” Three months later, the CDC claimed a study it published had shown that “wearing a mask lowered the odds of testing positive” by as much as 83%.
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

The data suggest those outcomes are significantly more likely in those who are re-infected with covid than in those who are not re-infected with covid.

Few people in the hospital with Covid are hospitalized because of Covid. At minimum 80%, likely 90% are incidental since Omicron, about 40-50% were incidental before Omicron. That undermines every aspect of this single study you're enthralled with.

Sure.

The study is about covid re-infection.

You said most viral and bacterial re-infections have similar impacts. Can you share some support for that claim?

Oopsie. Looks like they put the decimal in the wrong spot. 8.3% or 83%, same thing right?
