Joe who?

There's no currently authorized program from Joe Biden that "wipes out" student loans. If you're one of the rare few who qualified for the 10-year Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, that was around long before Joe Biden. If you're getting some preemptive "forgiveness" based on Biden's Unconstitutional stunt, it's really just a scam that you'll be stuck repaying.

Why Trump loves the uneducated is because highly educated people immediately see him for the fraud and the conman he is, and his child-tier vocabulary only works to hoodwink the uneducated.

And one of XterraRob's less nutty beliefs is where China might be getting a serious advantage over the US is in their investment in education. The greatest country in the world in one century will be the one that educated its civilians today.

We know higher educated people vote liberal and academia has a strong liberal bias. Because conservatism tends to erode when faced with a critically thinking, progressive mind.

Well boot licker, businesses who received PPE loans, didn't have to get those loans, they could have just went out of business, and the property could have been vacant. But they also wouldn't need PPE loans, if they weren't forced to shutdown.

There is arguably a fundamental problem with the higher education system and respective culture that perpetuates the fixation on unaffordable colleges. Profit being a motivating factor for colleges is increasingly shifting priorities away from their sole purpose of education, and while there are already many articles (like this one, but there are many more with a search) on the subject, there isn't remotely enough widely publicized scrutiny into the habits of these institutions. Colleges are already far more wasteful than they let on, and they are already not being held responsible whatsoever.

That isn't even touching how the higher education system itself is designed around essentially wasting time and running up the credit hour bill for completely useless subjects and requirements that have no bearing on career applications or training. Likewise, there are completely wasteful courses being offered (and charged for!) that have contributed to this loan crisis just as much as "legitimate" courses, perhaps even more so. When a woman stands to make more becoming a tikthot over her gender studies degree, clearly there are a host of problems with the higher education system.

That's people who went to college without debt, now paying for someone else. That's people who didn't go to college at all, now paying for someone else.
That was one hell of an analogy that made everyone dumber for reading it.

In any case, you're bang on about how the burden is being passed onto everyone else for nothing they had done wrong and for no gain in return. Those paid off their loans? Now they're paying off someone else's. Those who didn't even go into debt? Now they're stuck fixing someone else's debt. Those who didn't go to college at all? Still no degree despite paying for someone else's.

Not only would the student loans be cleared, but all accountability for the culpable parties, including the government for, amongst other things, not removing themselves from personaly banking and lending.

Bolded for emphasis. Proponents for wiping out student loans at the cost of taxpayers only serves to show all future students that they can be even more spendthrift because an evengreaterstudent loan bubble will be forgiven as well. Likewise, this incentivizes colleges and universities to maintain the status quo - no, just like those studentsdouble downand be even more greedy. What do they care if they engage in shenanigans to keep tuition rising when they also know that they'll be getting fatter checks from bigger loans that the government will also forgive?

They areliterallyaccusing teachers of correcting students on mathematical errors as practicing "white supremacy."

The only way they could try to make students even dumber would be to outright beat them until they were clinically dead.

And of course there was the whole "science" crowd condemning the very act ofquestioning science. They would have had Galileo hanged for suggesting that the sun didn't revolve around the Earth.

The US needs to ditch the 2 years general + 2 years semi specialised and go with the 3 years specialised that many other countries go with.

As an example, as an undergrad I had 4 courses per semester, 3 mandatory and 1 elective.

A semester might be thermodynamics, classical mechanics and optics as the mandatory and then the elective could be electronics, opto-electronics, astrophysics, medical physics or select courses from the math, chemistry or engineering departments with heavy application to physics.

Of the 24 courses undergrads did during the 3 year period, every single one of those 24 was related to their degree. No fluff.

Masters: again no fluff, done in 1 year.

PhDs: no fluff, no mandatory masters, 3-5 years.

Medics don't do pre-med and then med school, they do a 5 year degree that is specialised from the moment they start.

Immerse people in their chosen discipline and actually teach them how to do something, instead of it being a continuation of high school.

Well, there was also a time when AP classes, and other certain classes earned you college credit.

Of course leftists said that wasn't fair to certain minorities and now it's scrapped.....

Now imagine knocking out like 21-24 credit hrs, before even stepping foot in college.

IMO, we shouldn't put all the blame on the students for this problem. That's one of the rationales behind the thread, to argue students are a small fraction of whom to blame.

We should make the universities accountable for graduates poor job opportunities. Don't make students shoulder all the blame with obscene amounts of debt; if you slaved through a program for years and it doesn't lead to an income reflecting your skills and intelligence, then hold the universities accountable. Investigate their infrastructure, program design and their job preparedness initiatives. If they're not pulling the weight pull some of the programs and put them on the hook for the money.

Granted, that would shelve nearly all Arts programs over night, but it might make universities more discriminating WRT their intake and their pedagogical rationale. I know my alma mater turned tens of millions of profit every year, so I know the money is there and there's every reason to give them incentives to improve program quality and graduate job training.

P.S Some friendly advice, your posts are a bit too long and it's kind of a disincentive to read through them. For an academic artice, fine, but brevity should be one's strong suit when foruming. And I admit my posts are even sometimes borderline in that regard.
Back off, Warchild.

But...but tradies! Yeah, that chit can fuk right off.
Not quite.

My old dental hygienist told me that when she applied for colleges she got into NYU and CUNY. CUNY costing a tiny fraction of NYU's tuition, plus she got a scholarship. She graduated with so little debt (she lived with her parents during her studies) that she was working at that time to save enough money to open her own place. And she did.

The fact of the matter is if you get into NYU and think that going to NYU guarantees six figures starting as soon as you graduate: that's on you. You'd think someone considering taking out a 300k loan to go to college might consider its worth, prior to going to college.

'You' = 'one', just quoted you to address the sentiment.

Forgiving student debt is a winning issue for any politician that appears serious about it. It'll never happen though because of all the profit the government is making from it.

This all started under obama when he made the loans government backed to "help" the underprivileged get degrees. College prices went through the roof after that ensuring the underprivileged were screwed for life with the predatory loans.

Abolishing what obama did would lower costs and help the kids of the future. Getting rid of interest on loans that people have been paying off for 10 years or some other amount of time would help people that are struggling now. Allowing bankruptcy would help as well (biden made sure this was off the table).

So if someone graduates and doesn't get the job, or the lifestyle they want, it's the fault of the University?

Also lol at Bohdy pretending he’s an “intellectual” when he’s on record as literally smearing his own chit on the walls. Just lol.
I fuking lost it a couple of days ago when he said he made $75k grading papers part time lol.

It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.

He also admitted to shoplifting, but he'll probably backtrack and say he "used" to shoplift......

But why would a high IQ intellectual shoplift?

Two disingenuous offences here:

1. Firstly, I never said I earned 75k from marking papers. I said I do casual academic work to supplement my PhD stipend, which alone pays 28.5k a year without tax. In addition to marking, there's tutorials, lecturing etc. All up, it adds up to around a 75k a year salary after tax. After tax...so that's like 52k a year gross, which isn't baller status by any means. It affords a fairly ordinary life.

2. The shoplifting this is being overly dramatized and boogeymanned. What I said was that occasionally, the self serve checkouts didn't register a few items and I really was in a rush, and after multiple attempts to find a cashier to no avail, I put those things in my bag too and left. But I paid more than enough back in charities to the store to compensate for that.
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.

So instead of putting the items back you chose to steal them. Really speaks to your character.
And your explanation is pathetic. Its ok that I stole from the store because I donated money to them.
