It's too expensive to go out these days. Food prices are insane and cocktails are $20 each. I'm trying to get friends to stick to coffee but even that is $7 plus tip. Now they put the screen in front of you so you almost have to give a tip.

Not a tradecel, but my strategy was becoming a really good cook so I can just offer to make food at home that is often at least as good as the restaurant. Obviously, you need to go out some of the time though.

So I went on a date this Tuesday with a girl I met on Bumble. We went to a bar and hit it off pretty well. About an hour or two into the conversation I could tell she was giving me the eye, so at one point I just went for the kiss and she gave in. She was a bit shocked, but didn't pull back at all and we had a pretty long kiss. I would just ask her if she wants to do something over the weekend (or whatever day you prefer) and tell her to give you her number to make things easier. It seemed like she was into the "cocky" thing, so I would leave out smiley faces, etc. and just focus on setting a new date as though it is assumed it will happen.

It's Thursday night, ask her out now. You should try to see her this weekend and if you wait any longer to ask her out it'll seem like you have nothing going on (making plans on a Friday for Saturday or whatever). Seems like she enjoyed you being cocky, so knock that beta **** off with the message you proposed. No ghey smiley face, ?s, I really enjoy you etc. Be masculine, assertive, and lead but not an *******. Something like, "Tuesday was great, let's get together again this weekend." You get the idea. You'll be able to tell her interest level from her reply, without having to ask so many questions and hypotheticals about when she might be free.

Thanks for the advice brahs. I haven't dated in a while, since I broke up with my ex, so I'm still a bit rusty.

Asked her out yesterday and she said she was "just about to check on me", lol (she was definitely waiting for me to text her, to see if I'm really interested imo). Said she has plans with family for the weekend, but we can do it during the week, so I told her "Sure, we'll make it happen. Add me on fb" and she added me.

I'm a bit unsure about the texting part now - should I try to keep texting to a minimum and use it only to set up the next date? Like check with her again on Sunday and propose a date on Tuesday/Wednesday? Or should I text her from time to time to ask her how's it going?

I'm not really a huge fan of that whole "getting to know each other" via text thing and prefer to do that irl tbh.

Nice. My inclination would be to text Sunday evening, say you hope her weekend with family was good, and tell her what days in the week you’re available. I wouldn’t text throughout the weekend at this early stage when she’s spending time with family.

Agree with Bradlehmambrah, this is what I would do. If you can, try to lock down the day of the date when you're texting then. You want to get to know each other in person, not over text.

Yea id send a text Sunday night, or mid afternoon Monday saying you hope she enjoyed the time with her family, ask her if she wants to do xyzzy on Wednesday night.

I'm not really a huge fan of that whole "getting to know each other" via text thing and prefer to do that irl tbh.
Just match her energy, if she is texting you definitely text her back within some time

Yeah, I'll definitely respond if she messages me, lol. My question was - should I initiate any texting or just leave it for the end of the weekend?
