Seriously, a couple of you clowns need to quit with the analysis after your Volk and Gane predictions.

But I’ll give folks some slack who haven’t been following MMA for a while, and especially not truly appreciating Jon Jones. You simply don’t know what you don’t know.

Jon Jones, when motivated, is on such a different level that is hard to describe. It’s like trying to explain to young heads how truly next level Jordan was.

Imagine paying $125 for PPV just to see a French dude tap out on the first submission attempt of the night in less than 2 minutes... lol

Right on man, completely agree. It is fun to debate with each other on their skill, technique, who we think will win fights, etc but we don't know these people personally and do not know how we would handle the spotlight Jones has been under for a long time. We are in no place to judge these people personally.

since you obviously mean me lol. This one was a terrible look for me, no doubt

the volk one wasn't though, big underdog that gave a close fight. People still argue about the 4th round, no where near comparable to this so idk why you mentioned it

still successfully predicted the last 4 title fights correctly, but yeah this was a bad look so i can't be mad. Shouldn't of bet against the goat

No doubt, no one expected it to go that way without even a fight. I was worried seeing how nervous Jones was in the walkout, even trying to crawl into the cage before getting the inspection, but damn once that bell rung we saw the Jon Jones from his 20s that destroyed all those legends again.

Enjoyed the intelligent back and forth discussion about the fight and athletes with no need for childish insults. On to the next!

He is far from what I would call an intelligent fighter with a high fight IQ, and not well rounded. Jon would similarly develop a game plan to make Francis look just as amateurish as he made Gane look.

Now if he is smart, he waits for Jon to mop the floor with Stipe (who I really like and respect, btw), and then do WHATEVER it takes to force the UFC’s hand into setting up a super fight with Jon.

As a Jon Jones fan, I really don’t want a repeat of late LHW Jones career, and I don’t see him getting motivated for the Blaydes v. Pavlovich winner, especially in his later 30’s. But could totally see him being motivated for a Francis fight.

haha, I've tried several times and putting SMART in front of Big Ol Pussy doesn't make it sound any better. We all just saw why Ngannou turned down the contract and it had nothing to do with "terms". He didn't want to be that guy that got destroyed by HW Jon Jones. Jon just erased any bit of legitimate claim to legacy Ngannou may have thought he had by so easily disposing of this "new breed of HW athlete", lol. I agree Jon would highly enjoy beating the shyte out of Ngannou, but Francis didn't want the fight before and he certainly won't have anything to do with it now that we know motivated, older, HW Jon Jones is an equal or better fighter than he was in his 20s.

It will be interesting to see what Jones does after beating up Stipe, but I don't think he will make the same mistake again signing up to fight opponents that mean absolutely nothing to him and don't belong in the same cage. He has absolutely nothing left to prove in the slightest.

Made it look easy just like he said.

He stands at the top of the mountain far away from the rest.

that's who you want to see fight the GOAT?

Go look at other guys in their late 40s who have fought MMA. It's not pretty. Maybe a person here or two if they can get on the right PEDs can fight competently... but in general it's just sad when those guys fight.

She fought just as good as she always has, she doesn't didn't expect such a tough opponent. When Alexa started rocking Valentina early in the striking exchanges the takedowns from Valentina were extremely good and quick. I don't think I've ever seen her take anyone down like that, those double-leg shots were GSP-like. The problem was as good as the takedowns were, Alexa defended herself well on the ground and got back to her feet which is where Valentina did not want to be. Valentina got frustrated and knew her path to a W was point fighting instead of a finish, but holy chit was Grasso explosive going for Valentina's back during that spin. We all know how fast Valentina's spinning strikes are but Alexa was ON IT!

Everyone knew that this fight was 100% dependent on how Jon looked. It wasn't unreasonable to assume that his age, layoff, and weight gain would have affected him negatively. He also had 3 lackluster fights back to back to back before the 3 year layoff.

You can't take a victory lap on a complete guess, just because you happened to be right. You couldn't possibly haveknownthat Jon was going to look just as good as he used to.

No one expected Gane to utterly fold under the pressure either (probably should have, french etc). I don't believe that was the best Gane had to offer. The difference is, Jon thrives in those situations, like a true GOAT.

Hang on, this "akmerle" ****git is calling people clowns because of a wrong prediction in MMA? He specifically mentioned the Islam/Volk fight as well as if he called that one but THIS was his take? lmao what
Originally Posted By akmerle

Alex does not have power for 145, let alone at 155, and his reach will not enable him to get close enough to use any possible technical striking advantage. I honestly dont think Alex has much a striking advantage anyhow given how clean Islam stays, and Islam has better kicks.

So if Alex has to overextend to get into range, that will set up Islam to promptly take him down. If Alex somehow gets in close, then Islam clinches him up to trip / drag him down, or bullies him against the fence where the same thing happens.

Once grounded Islam will easily be able to control him with the simply irresistible Khabib / Dhagistani top game. Dynamic / explosive / powerful escapes to scramble that Alex can normally do will not work on Islam. Alex is not a threat from his back, so I think Islam finishes him however is most convenient.

I'm calling Round 2, Islam chokes Alex out cold (he is a warrior, and will not tap) via RNC after Alex tries to scramble out of G&P.
Yea bro, you were only totally wrong abouteverything. Top tier analysis. You must train, right? RIGHT? YOU TRAIN, YEAH?

You're supposedly 44 years old and are acting like a pretentious cretin on a bodybuilding forum subsection. There's only one clown here, bucko.

That was embarrassing from Gane. Wtf was he doing since Tai fight playing Fifa?

I know they were trying to sell bunch of ppv so in lead up ignored that Gane got taken down by Francis with two blown acl's.

To me this last night was Lewis vs Cormier basically.

As for next fight...Stipe has nothing for Jon.

Stipe is like thousand years old.

Jones can take him down or just chop his legs down with leg kicks.

Easy win for Jones.

Only challenge for Jon could be Blaydes or Sergei.

I think UFC is gonna win big on this return arc from Jones.

Jones can beat Stipe easy.

Fight winner of Blaydes/Sergei.

Than just sits and waits for the biggest pay day.

Meanwhile Francis will get one boxing pro fight. Get destroyed (especially if rumors are true its gonna be Wilder)

All the hype /draw goes away.

In the background Dana will be waiting.

Dec 2024.

Jones vs Francis.
