Hammies are part of the posterior chain. Everything is connected. Work on your mobility.

I've always done from a dead hang and have never had a problem. I'm guessing you're using kippin style movement?

Never got a hammie. If I pull something on pull-ups it's always my neck straining on a final rep.

A few times and almost, when doing the heaviest weighted chin-ups set crossing legs behind.

I remind my body,"Don't forget to keep good form,"

My body squirms and screams,"F*ck good form, who cares!!!!"

You must have injured hamstring earlier, on your leg day, and only felt it when doing pullups. Happens all the time. I mean, not hamstring particularly, but injuries which are felt on other day doing something else.
