Yes you had all the necessities, butsaving up was borderline impossible. Didn't help that my job was 20 miles off base with expensive gas.

That chit is what caused me toget married earlyso I could gain access to COLA, BAH, and BAS. Then I was raking in lots of extra money. Jokes on me though now I am paying $1300 a month in child support for the next 12 years.
Well there you go...I did 4 years enlisted in San Diego (single in the barracks, so no BAH...stationed on a ship the whole time so no BAS, etc) and got out with around 35-40k saved from it.

I cannot in good faith recommend military service to anyone. This administration is chit, this government is chit, CRT/woke culture is chit, lowering standards for the babies, the people you work with are chit, leadership is toxic, morale is super low, mandatory clot shots, and no one gives a chit about vets once you're out. Throw into that ring that my kids have seen me deal with some monumental bullchit in my career and have essentially seen first hand plenty of reasons never to consider the military.

On the flip side of that though, I knew a guy once who was literally too fuking cheap to eat at McDonalds. He would get the cheapest special they had, and if wasn't something he wanted, he would get a hamburger and a cup of water. Not a Cheeseburger because that cost extra, and no fries. *A* hamburger and a cup of water.

This was 30yrs ago and he showed me an ATM receipt once that showed over $15k left in his account.

So cash strapped? GTFO.
I'm staring to think we met for real now

My guess is this just matches with the rest of staffing reality in the US/ everyone short with low application flow.

And using last year's numbers- people were able to get jobs and lower pay range is 20 to 30% more pay than two years prior.l - and when mid pay range jobs they normally wouldn't qualify for.

The military pay/benefit increase not so much

Basically a reduction in applicants

Imagine being a warrior in the US Army and you can't say certain curse words or act like a savage anymore. I felt like I was castrated my last year in the Army and I couldn't wait to get out to be a man. I don't regret getting out at all. They lost a lot of goods Soldiers due to bringing in cultural politics of nonsense into the ranks. I know a lot of guys who hit their limits and said fukk this sh!t, when they were highly motivated and were the type to do 20 years. I knew I had to go when I started to see openly gay f@gg0ts and trannys in uniform. They also allowed women in combat arms, and all it did was provide a warm fleshlight to all the infantry folks. I've heard of female Soldiers both enlisted and officers ride the cock carousels of entire platoons while overseas. They also had the audacity to make schools like ranger school and other combat related schools easier so females can pass to be qualified. The US has became a joke and I was no longer proud to wear the uniform. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

Divorce rates are higher among LEOs not because they are "bad with their money", but because of the demands of the job. The result of that is the financial hardship of biased courts that still act like an ex-wife is a dependent.

You must have been the cheapest MF out there. Impressive I am pretty frugal, but that is something else.

Using Payrates based on your age and 4 years. I am seeing that you made roughly 75,000 total over the 4 years. To get out with 35k-40k. You averaged personal/entertainment/travel/phone/internet/insurance/trips home/expected going away restaurant trips expenses of roughly $730-$830 a month. Less early on more later.

Even living on poverty the only way I can make that work math wise is if you lived on the boat a lot with sea pay and didn't have/pay for a car.

Most people that managed to save like that were deployed overseas with combat pay and no need/way to spend it. (Which was how they end up buying that 30-50k car)

Lets be honest, most military women are always riding the carousel and never deploy.

Most the females that were about to deploy magically got pregnant right before deployment so some other poor sap had to do an off rotation deployment to cover.

Trust me, it's not because of the demands of the job. Now, if you're some hard charger, constantly getting late arrests, and you're in court all the time, yeah, you're probably gonna be headed for a divorce.

Same with detectives. Your wife wants to go to a wedding, but instead you have to be in court all day, because of a murder case.

Cops who are former military, tell me that a female who is a 3 in real life, is like a 5 or a 6 in the field, or overseas?

There was a literal "Whore Tent" in Desert Storm.

Now just let that sink in.. Not only are you in a field environment, you're in a hot, dirty, dusty, disgusting desert - and lets face it, Army women can be a tad on the homely side anyway.

No thanks jeffrey, that was a hard no from me.
It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.

Probably more like a 7/10, but only because there is a 6/10 who is now a 10/10 goddess.

The best available is always the top mark on the measuring post. When it is 50 to 1 you take what you can get.

They see the government ****ing around with places like Ukraine and don't want to be involved.

US military hasn't fought for "freedom" for a LONG time. Now it just enforces the petro dollar and then whatever comes next.

I'd say about 97% of you have no idea wtf you're talking about cause you never served and have no one in your immediate circle who has also.

Military nowadays is looked down on, just cause everyone thinks and wants a degree and to make 6 figures. It's almost seen as a prison sentence and a last resort for people.

Has very little to do with "woke" culture. The smoke sessions have gone down in basic, and the weirdo culture is starting to move away from units as a whole. Thank goodness.

It's just a sign of the times honestly
