Getting back to this thread. Was rushing through some work stuff yesterday so I'd have time to golfmaxx today, and both are done now.
Anyway, the text message I sent to the girl was like "I don't like playing the pen pals thing, we should meet up at this bar on these days." I don't think that gives me a lot of room to backtrack and say "actually I'm cool with being pen pals, pls give puss."
But I've never felt comfortable flying solo at bars. I'll go to them, I'll drink at them, but the girls there don't seem like they want to talk to chit. They're all sitting in a pack of like 5 doing their own thing. So I either sit and talk with the weird 50yo solo dude there, or stand around holding a glass doing the "I wish I was at home on the misc" thing. It's like a giant misc, wat do.
So it's my 4th season out with basically the same group of people. Almost all early 30s professional married couples, looking for couple friends, and then there's me just like 15th wheeling along. But this year we've been starting to go to happy hourafter games and chit.
What's cool is that there's this single 30-some STEMcel girl there, who's both cute enough and autistic enough to do it for me (srs) (shrinking violet doesn't do it justice). And what's REALLY cool is that apparently my teammates warm-introduced me behind my back. She's all smiling and waving at me, tells me "I heard you are good at trivia night" (fuk yes I'm good at trivia night). We'd gone a few times as a team, I always raped at it, but those meetups never stuck together for long w/o the formal structure of a league. ANYWAY, apparently some of my teammates left a good review for her.
So that's all pretty fukking good.
Now the wrench in the works is that my fukking manager scheduled two back to back night calls with India every week, RIGHT DURING OUR GAME TIMES. So I haven't been able to talk to married people or single girl for like a month, because I'm getting fukking cawkblocked by ******
I'm still trying to work around it. There's a bar near the rec center that has a trivia night, on a weekday that works a lot better for me. I'm going to go scope it out this week, and if it's popping, I'll pry invite the team to it.
