I think furniture made in the 80s was better quality.

literally 1st day with license took parents car around the corner to play hockey and someone backed into the side of it.
not my fault at all.
but it was the last time i touched their car's. lol!
I ended up with a buick skyhawk some old lady drove.
rusted to chit but only had 54k miles on it.
$400 baby!
needed a new clutch and pressure plate and brakes and gas line. lol!
but my friends helped me do it and i helped them work on their POS's.
good times.

I was a kid during the late 80s and early 90s so it seemed great since I didn't have to deal with the bullchit adults did. Getting the most basic life tasks done or even basic things like accessing information was a massive headache which people put up with but knowing how easy it could be would drive me insane. For the curious person and someone who likes to learn, the internet is a godsend.
If you can't handle me when I'm incel, you don't deserve me when I'm chad

Literally some of the down payment for my first house after I got married came from that paper route.Only thing that really sucked were the horrible interest rates.

back in the 1980s if you wanted to figure something out you asked your dad or a teacher or someone you looked up to or went to the library. That or you just figured it out yourself.
It was basically very similar to today except you never had internet. You didnt miss it as it wasnt invented yet. Same with regular computers. They didnt exist so you didnt miss them.
People were the same but the one thing that really has changed is that if you were nuts like you wanted to chop off your nuts, you were looked down on as the oddball that you are. You werent glorified for being crazy. That and people just minded their own business and if they got their feelings hurt, tough ****, deal with it. You were probably a pussy to begin with and overly sensitive.
Women were actually feminine yet it was easy to get laid. There were some sleazy types but it wasnt a dating strategy like it seems today. There was only cold approaching but that was just fine because again, no internet so both sides understood the game.
They acted demure and like women should. On the down side it was the hairy bush ear too so shaving down there was only for like porn stars and such.
The internet for all its great uses had basically become a tool for busybodies and karens to have some sort of power over the discussion. it has given the microphone to the losers who otherwise shouldnt have it. You can clearly see what this has caused. Its basically like the new platform for the drama club to express their strange views on everyone. back in the day they would have just been looked at like the weirdos they are.

He had a DOS computer I was allowed to use. I would play hangman, wheel of fortune and jeopardy on it
I remember them having multiple floppy discs and him showing me how to type in the commands to get the computer going
I remember typing for hours from books of code to "write" games (this memory is fuzzy but I think you could buy a book and it had code for a game and you just typed it all in to have it on your computer)

You would get paid a minimal amount from the paper plus tips
I bought a $8000 first car with that.
The thing with the paper route is it was EVERY day. Weekend in the morning and after school
