The Lamar Jackson situation is the fault of the NFLPA. Player restriction is too rigid. Get rid of the franchise tag and this isn't even an issue.

Why are people so afraid of draft discourse? Chris Simms posted his rankings of edge rushers and had Will Anderson 5th. But on twitter everyone is just calling him names and what not. But if you look at past drafts, they're literally turned upside down. Busts all over the top 10 damn near every year. Elite players going in 3rd round, etc.

Here's the 2013 NFL draft.

https://www.pro-football-reference.c...2013/draft.htm

If you sort it by wAV you can see where they should have actually been drafted. It's not the perfect metric by any means but it's not bad. By wAV it says that Bakhtiari, Kelce, DHop, Lane Johnson and Keenan Allen should have been the top 5 picks. They actually went 109, 63, 27, 4, 76

Social Media has given people a platform to just lash out whenever someone has a differing opinion, especially in sports. Way I see it, I dont believe any mock draft or any expert until the draft unfolds because in reality nobody truly knows what teams are going to do or who is a bust or not. Who would've thought Purdy was the best QB out of last years draft? Nobody besides maybe himself lol

As far as the potential longevity of your career--perhaps. But the initial guaranteed $ difference from being a first rounder compared to a mid or late round pick is huge.

I tried to become an NFL Scout. The whole system is broken. They focus on certain traits that may not even be relevant to success in the NFL and ignore flaws. I was literally told not to worry about what a player can't do and only focus on what they can do. And then those players who can't do X, Y and Z get drafted top 10. It's crazy.

258 and 500 million contracts. Boost the market? How much more does one player need? At some point these bloated contracts will stop going up because it's going to cripple teams.

Looks like the sale is just about official to the Josh Harris group. The bad man is finally gone. Time to rebrand again and get rid off all of Snyder’s stink.

Very true. If you go in the top 10, you're basically set for life. And you're very unlikely to get cut during your first contract. If you go in the later rounds, you're gonna have to work.

Eagles and Jalen Hurts reached agreement on a five-year, $255 million extension, including $179.304 million guaranteed, per source.

Hurts becomes the highest-paid player in NFL history in a deal negotiated by Nicole Lynn of Klutch Sports Group and Eagles’ GM Howie Roseman.

Eagles built an elite team around an average to below average QB then give said QB $50M+ a year.

The contract numbers are fluff anyway. The real contract is 4 years, $73.4M.

I said the same thing when Kaep led the niners to the SB... Great team around him but is he worth that money so soon? And yeah that turned upside quick lol

With Hurts idk yet, too soon to be determined but Philly needed to pay him now because they had no fifth year option since he was drafted in the 2nd round. Is he worth it? again idk but man this offseason has felt quite fun with NFL news and such

I feel like this is one of the type of situations we have to let play out.. Jalen Hurts was a monster this season.. led the Eagles to the SB(played a big part), was the best QB for fantasy (thanks hurts) and absolutely BALLED OUT in the Super Bowl.. since i'm not an Eagles fan i'm not really invested in this but i'd say Jalen Hurts DOES deserve the money. More so if he can play like this for a few more years.. he's only what, 24

He didn't lead them to the Super Bowl. A team that has the best offensive line in the league and is 3rd all time in sacks is going to the Super Bowl regardless of who the QB is. Especially when all you have to do is beat Daniel Jones and Brock Purdy/Josh Johnson. He also made an error that was single biggest factor that lost them the game.

Yeah, when Minshew started and Jalen Hurts was out, the Eagles won those games right? Consider that it wasn't EVEN the playoffs (Dallas, the fukking SAINTS) LOL

Minshew threw for 355 and 2 TDs vs the Cowboys and lost 34-40. Hurts had 6 games.. SIX... where he didn't throw a TD and the Eagles went 6-0.
