I use both. PC for occasional gaming and for flight simulation. Mac for everything else. Built my own PC. Not had a problem with either platform for years and years now. Generally prefer Mac for its integration with iPhone and iPad and for the aviation apps I use. Neither is a bad platform or OS and both OS's do some things better than the other.

Windows doesn't come with a DVD player built in. OSX does. Of course you pay twice as much for a Mac than you do a Windows machine, so it's the least they could do.

that doesn't make sense.

I'm guessin' you had a physical CD drive problem. thats prolly the cheapest component on most store-bought computers. I dunno. I have a PS3 that i use to play DVDs and sometimes it chokes out as well. doubt its the software.

I have a couple family members who do lots of computer work, know their stuff, that have little good to say about Apple products. I don't know why they are that way. Yet for me, I like Apple. They have been the most reliable computers that I've used.

The same physical DVD drive that didn't work on the two PCs is the one that did work on the mac

To make matters even more rage-inducing, I have used that DVD player on my PC in the past without issue. Seems like one of those awesome 'updates' has rendered it useless.

People give lot of sh!t to Apple but they support their products longer than most tech companies.

I was able to use my 10 year old ipad the other day to use an app to control a gadget.

I can still walk into an Apple store and get my old macbooks batterys replaced.

My very very old ipod nano still works.

You also dont need to search or install any hardware drivers on OSX, pretty much any printer or device will work just plug n play.

You can repair old ass IBMs too. Plus you don't pay apples ridiculous mark up for components.

Apple requires an app to be updated, and then won't let you install an app if you can't update your system to the latest version. My buddy can't install garage band on his 2014 macbook pro due to this.

I have multiple PCs (yes that means computers that are NOT Apple only) that are about 20 years old each running CNC machines. Never a glitch and run all the time.

One of my laptops (one I use for travel) is probably that old and runs like new.

OP is just a tard and can't insert a DVD the correct direction (or messed up his software by fat fingering and deleting files at some point).

In many professional settings, the programs are only PC based (duh, I can run a virtual machine blah blah blah).

Apple computers are for people who want to show off the glowing apple more than getting a good product. Most Mac laptops surf tictok 90% of the time and people pay 3 times the money for that? lol
