I want to conserve my property so it doesn't get stolen by the diversity crew.

I want to conserve my paycheck so it won't all be taxed away.

I want to conserve the cost of things I need so they don't get taxed to the point I can't afford it.

I want to conserve me right to defend myself in case some mental illness case let loose on the streets tries to kill me.

Current status quo will lead to more inequality, high inflation, civil unrest, and mentally ill people eventually trying to rob you. The GOP is making all of that more likely long term. Unfortunately, Dems are trash on this too. Enjoy.

Generally, religious people do tend to identify with more conservative political ideology.

We are working on some really ground breaking stuff here.

I guess in simple thinking, yes it reduces "gun deaths", but you're still gonna have those suicides regardless unless you force mentally ill people to be locked away or give them treatment against their will.

It's like pot heads like to say "if you make marijuana legal, it reduces crime", yes but's that's only because the goal posts have changed.

You don't though. In simple thinking, it's far easier to kill yourself with a gun. In simple thinking, you should look at the actual stats. The US has an insanely high suicide rate.

Maybe your thinking is simple. Maybe you don't want to admit the discrepancy because you're an uneducated partisan idiot who has been programmed to have these views? Maybe you're just simple.

This. Prodding at what conservatives are conserving, it’s mostly “traditional” values that were prominent in the 1950s. Man goes to work, wife takes care of kids and the home. Problem is, this little slice of life is really only wished for by white men, who are the benefactors of this arrangement. Ask a random minority, LGBT or woman whether they’d rather live in those times, and that’s gonna be a resounding no from most of them, and for good reason.

So yeah, white dudes are mad that they don’t have the deck stacked so far in their favor as much as they used to. God forbid you lift a finger to raise your kids or clean your house, actually compete for a job or have to hear other people’s opinions. The humanity.

Yeah keep cutting taxes for the rich and corporations boys, that will surely bring back the 50s. Any day now.

How exactly is the diversity crew stealing your property?

You want to not pay taxes but yet you want to use government’s roads and expect the military to defend you?

Does supply and demand not affect the cost of things? What about getting a different job? Gotta pull yourself up from your bootstraps, no?

You want to defend yourself from some shooter but at the same time you’re calling for the freedom for people to own any firearm. What do you expect?

1) I never said my personal views once other than my opinion on conservatism

2) no chit conservative were once the values of progressives, I already made this point in their obsession with things that create social change

Calm down, I didn't mean to offend you. You don't need to be programmed for any of this. Logically, think about it. If you get rid of all guns. Would all those suicides just stop?

Someone who is suicidal has access to a gun, car, or building.

Let's say we take away the gun, they would just switch to the other two instead

e.g Japan has almost double the suicide rate and no one has guns. They just jump off buildings and hang themselves.

You can think of something else if you don't want to use guns. Assume Americans just eat donuts all day and it leads to obesity. So in your case, you would just ban donuts, but that doesn't solve the problem.

A lot would.

Yes, but those methods are not as immediate. Japan does not have double our suicide rate.

Again, firearms are immediate and more convenient and lethal for suicide. Japan would have an even higher suicide rate if firearms were legal and widespread.

https://med.stanford.edu/news/all-ne...with%20a%20gun.

good talk

“Our findings confirm what virtually every study that has investigated this question over the last 30 years has concluded: Ready access to a gun is a major risk factor for suicide,”

See what I'm saying? If you get rid of guns. Would suicide stop being an issue? No, it wouldn't.

You believe guns lead to suicide.
But owning a gun doesn't make one suicidal.

Do you see the problem?

What causes one to feel suicidal? You have to deal with that issue. If it were up to you if everyone felt suicidal, but everything has been banned, I guess the world would be a better place. /s

There are other reasons you want to ban guns, and I get the feeling, it's not because of the suicide rate. That's just something you are referencing.

It's kind of like the same argument pot heads like to say. "If you legalize pot, it would create job" but many who say this, just want to smoke it.

No. It would be lessened. Owning a gun makes you more likely to commit suicide.

I don't even want to ban guns. I own a gun. It's just a simple fact. Having a piece of technology that makes it easy for you to kill yourself makes you more likely to do so. Over half of suicides in America are by firearm. Many are impulsive and probably would not have happened by other means.

the majority of suicidal people who's guns have been taken away still go on to commit suicide. but that doesn't help wincel's argument

Source? And is this compared with suicidal people whos guns were not taken away? Which group was more likely to die? Dumbass.

Stick to fascism and posting pictures of Pinochet instead of trying to make an argument.

Even if someone is not Christian/religious, it should be common sense that there are only two genders, murder is not a good thing, stealing/robbery is not a good thing, it is not okay to harm children, it is beneficial to have a mother and father. Liberals seem to be okay with all these things though.

Also lol at belief in god being like santa clause. The only people I've ever met that have that mindset never moved past a childlike understanding of religion. In fact it's a massive problem in the church today - a poor transition from a childlike belief system to one that actually fits into the world we live in (which completely destroys childlike belief).
Religion is not supposed to adapt. That’s why Jews and Muslims have more in common and don’t agree with Christians.

I guess this the riddle of the ages. Why not off yourself? (Hypothetical thought experiment question, not srs).

Does owning a gun make you more likely to kill yourself? If the answer is no. What causes those people to want to kill themselves? (they just happen to own a gun).

No matter what you tell me, I cannot believe for a fact that me owning a gun will make me want to kill myself.

It's mental illness. Plain and simple.

I guess the real question, why do you own a gun if you are afraid people (yourself included) will commit suicide?

Playing semantics still doesn't answer my question. Let me break it down:

1 Says guns cause more suicides
2 You have a gun
3 Why are you not suicidal and aren't you afraid per your statements that you will commit suicide?

Because it increases likelihood and doesn't guarantee it...As I said.

Other factors may matter more than my suicide. Again, the ability to do certain things may be more valuable than my life. Check sig.

Yea, and what is it called when someone has those issues. Mental illness.

Whether the guy has a gun or not, makes no difference. What matters is they have mental illness.

A guy like me, who is perfectly healthy will not commit suicide. Even you will not commit suicide, but let's say some depressed fuk buys a gun and blows his brains out.

Leftists will say, "this could have been prevented if guns were banned."

While the rational person will say "how did it get to this point?"

At least, we are now in agreement.

We aren't, and you've also derailed quite a bit. Not interested in a gun debate. I linked what the medical stats say, and you said some words that are the opinion of an accounting major. Great. I gave you the argument. You don't like it and want to pretend having access to a firearm doesn't affect probability of suicide.

Why are many atheists such edglelords? They always try really hard to sound intelligent while coping about their “open mind” while forgetting that they are holding a religious belief, on faith, that a creator does not exist.

Whether it’s hatred for the way your life has gone or jealousy of others, let it go and except that you don’t know any more than the most devout Christian. You are the flip side of the coin to the guy preaching hellfire and brimstone to any one who jerks off into a sock. You are equal to that.
This body holding me, be my reminder here that I am not alone.
Makes me feel eternal, all this Pain is an Illusion.

Who derailed this? It wasn't me. My original post was about those events that liberals hold about "giving up your guns"

This is your post derailing everything. How did you originally start talking about that is beyond me.
