Op have you ever been to Joshua Tree National Park?
It’s also incredible but probably a little more comfortable in fall/spring vs now

Yeah, I drove out to San Diego for the Navy and then drove back to the Midwest 7 years later.
Driving through Utah was pretty epic. I insisted that on the way back (I had around 3 weeks before I had to start my new job) that I would at least stop at Zion, or something. I didn't, but it was still great scenery along the way.

I have a lot more videos and pictures. At one point there's a trail you can take from stop 3 (on your way back to stop 1 visitor center) and walk the pave path back to the main visitor center. There was barely anyone and I was jumping on and climbing giant boulders to sit on and soak up the views. Tons of snakes though. Felt like a kid again just exploring and just with my own thoughts.
Good luck on your trip brah. Doing all five is going to be EPIC.

Family used to go to Zion a bunch as kids 40 years ago.
Is there still a motel called Bumbleberry Inn in Springdale?
Edit: Yup it's still there. Opened in 1972.

Your parents got to enjoy it without the influx of people too. Everyone said even like 5 years ago it wasn't as crowded as it has been the past few years.

Mirin. I stayed at a lodge in Springdale years ago, one of those amazing, built out of yuge logs types. I forget the name but was cool as hell. Zion is breathtaking. Entirely unaware of Snow canyon. I need to look into that
Here's to swimmin' with bow-legged women.
