He clearly throws at minimum (2) two punches into the water trying to fend sharks off.
He lost his left arm during the video, If you have a half decent rig to watch it on, That becomes obvious.
There is a massive amount of blood in the water by the end.
I am 200% sure that is his background / distant death yell of “NO!!!” At the end.

Not as sure about losing arm, but if you pause at the right time it does look like something is either blocking the light to his arm and shoulder and then you never see that arm again even when he’s swimming away
