the combat isnt deep if you suck at it or dont try to do different combinations. I'm trash but even I get glimpses of what can be accomplished

its a japanese company, they dont care about diversity very clearly.

About 40% done with main story, just had an awesome moment from a side quest. Dont skip the side quests with the + on them, those are very legit.

Also ran into my first hunt, those fights are more challenging and require more skill , gonna do those to really get good

There are like 30 abilities and you can use 6 at a time, not to mention the unique eikon abilities you choose 3 of. How is that not a build? Weapon type variety sure I guess couldn't hurt but people can seemingly barely handle combos as it is.

What FF has fashion equipment besides ff14? How are most of the upgrades you get on gear in other rpgs not meaningless stat upgrades?

Funny you mention FF12 as that battle system was pretty hated when it first came out as I recall.

I’m in the ancient area right now it’s been pretty good so far

I like the cut scenes. A fee if them have dragged but for the most part I think they’re well spaced and do a good job of telling the story

Battle system I definitely suck at but I at least haven’t failed anything yet. I’m just missing a lot of my dodges and need to get better at combos

I would have preferred something closer to 12 or 13 but I don’t absolutely hate it

ive still got the OG FF on the NES.ive played everyone except 13.the one i like the least is 12.except maybe 10-2.havent played that in a long time.every old school fan i know hated 12 and 15 the most.they are good games but that was the beginning of the end.FF7Remake was great.they did that game justice even though is more of a sequel in my book.i played the 16 demo.ill beat the game eventually when i get it.i dont know how i feel about it.my brother doesnt like the combat but he likes the story.the game is pretty much exactly how i thought it was gonna be.of course its gonna be different from other FF games.i noticed no one mentioned this is the first M rated FF game. and what a joke that commercial was above.those athletes arent gonna spend 10 minutes on the game.im sure its a good game but this is not what die hard fans wanted.i could care less what other people think.my mind is on FFRebirth.FF16 will hold me over till then

Also can we talk about how fukkin mind-blowingly amazing and detailed the materials are in the game. The PBR for stuff like chains, armors look so fukkin good holy chit.





The disappointing thing is they need to fix this motion blur holy fuk .... It's so so so so bad. It actually detracts from the amazing graphics and environment because the entire game looks like blurred slime whenever you turn around the camera and try to enjoy everything. How tf do you release a game in 2023 without a motion blur toggle you fukkkin retards.



Square Enix is truly the best-worst company in gaming. They do so many things right, but at the same time completely fuk it up.

I dont really notice the motion blur until Ive been playing for awhile and my eyes get tired, then it legit hurts my eyes. But other than that I think everything looks great pretty consistently.

lol just got my first 'console is too hot'. I wasnt even fighting one of the big bosses, it was a mini boss and I was using limit break a bunch and guess it just overheated.

If this game sticks the landing its my GOTY. Which I would never have though possible after zelda but here we are.
