Pro tip-

Bragging about a car payment isnt a flex. Owning a reliable car outright is.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Word to the wise - don't focus on monthly payment, focus on total purchase price and interest rate (if your financing) and vehicle condition/reliability

Car salesmen love bringing negotiations into the realm of monthly payment instead of price/interest raste

Just because you have a low monthly payment (or even no payment if you paid cash), doesn't mean you didn't get hosed by the dealer

And the corollary, if you have a higher than average payment, doesn't mean you got hosed by the dealer

Latest car, I couldn't imagine a $600 payment, so I paid cash. I've paid cash for every car.

I checked out of the rat race a long time ago when I got good tinkering with cars. They’re overcharging you for “new” designs that are made out of the same materials essentially

I got an f30 330 bmw. Tis paid off altho it's a 2013 so it's old now, however I'm just gonna keep it and drive it till the wheels come off then get a cheap car I can buy outright.

Idc about cars as much anymore. Rather put it in to my house.

I pay $450 a month and I drive a 2016 BMW that I absolutely love. I should have it paid off in 3 years.

Around 1k right now on a new truck and suv. Got locked in at 2.3% rate.

I always finance 1/2 the purchase price so that the car will never be under water on its loan, I don't spend all my cash, the monthly payment isnt crazy. I would never pay cash up front for a car. My equity holding earns way more than 2.3-3% interest.

Yup mostly this, I have more than enough cash to pay off mine but that cash is sitting in a tax-sheltered account producing compounding dividends at 5%+ and acts as risk mitigation in case something ever happened and I needed cash flow without the hassle of selling a vehicle

Interest $$$ doesn't matter because it's offset by the money producing dividends

$450

$20,000 and change left on loan. Fells bad man.

But atleast it is worth much more than what I owe on it. Someone side swiped me while it was parked in a parking lot last week and now I have to look into getting it fixed. Just cosmetic damage but still sucks paying for something that is damaged nonetheless
