Supreme Court knocks down loan forgiveness. But they employ a BS rationale to do so.
So, SCOTUS ruled Biden did not have authority via the Heroes Act to forgive loans. You borrow money, you pay it back, they say. Biden loses. End of story.
Not yet. The Major Questions Doctrine was used in the case:https://crsreports.congress.gov/product/pdf/IF/IF12077. Cliffs, as I understand, is that on questions of major political or economic weight Congress can override delegated authority.
But I've read that this was not used before Roberts took over the court. And it's claimed to be completely fabricated. It sounds like a contrived and "farcical" doctrine with no legal standing. Why might the SCOTUS want it or use it?
Because, it gives a way for the conservative elements of the court to feign legal weight to their ideological agenda and shoot down policies which are either liberalistic or just benefit the common folk. They realize loan forgiveness it helps the underprivileged enormously and encourages them to better themselves through the best means available, education.
But this allows the courts to just say "Nope, this helps people who aren't us, and since Congress didn't authorize this exact action, we won't let this happen." Seems like there's a reason this is a recent doctrine, and it looks like it's all ideologically motivated.

You took out a loan. Pay it back, chit smearer.

Will The Ukraine pay back all that money Biden is sending them?

You're not even applying the Major Questions Doctrine correctly. Literally the point of the doctrine is to avoid agencies overstepping their approved bounds. This was actually the 100% proper way to use the doctrine in that the Heroes Act does not have "Clear Congressional Approval" to apply to loan forgiveness across the board in the way it was attempting to be used. This has now been clarified and settled in the Court system.
If CONGRESS doesn't like this, it's on them to create a bipartisan, constitutional bill/law that will apply to loan forgiveness. Good luck to them.

Is there anything you're not an expert in, Bohdy? Molecular biology and now a legal scholar telling the Supreme Court they're wrong? Great to have you here to set everything straight for us, and I do mean everything.

The conservative justices can twist the definition of standing to engineer any particular outcome that they want to.
EDIT: I do believe Thomas was actually quoted as saying he was going to use his power on the bench to "Make liberals lives hell".

i heard on one of the talking heads shows, that the "heroes thing" was left untouched and they can use it to try and get this done in a different way.

There's a gym, where it's a one time fee for the entire year. Let's say you sign up, pay the money, and 2 months later, you move, or you just don't feel like going to that gym anymore.
Guess what? You're not getting that money back.

Socialism isn't economics, nor is it constitutional, but rather purely ideological. Your posts are always ideological but you can't make that connection.
This is why government shouldn't be loaning money in the first place. Its yet another unconstitutional socialist policy. No matter how socialist we become, the commies just want more and more. Time to walk back all socialist policies. The Dems created the demand for it, and your posts prove that.
