You then have the people thathavebeen making regular payments, but can only afford the minimum balance so after 10 years they owemorethan the original amount they took out since the accrued interest is more than the minimum monthly bill.

And yes people are bad with money and made stupid decisions and in a perfect world they should pay it back, but is it right that they should just be stuck with a loan that is essentially a "forever-bill" that will forever get larger and larger until they die because of a bad decision they made some 10-15 years ago?

The absolute only recourse for them is to stop paying, have their wages garnished, then they don't have enough to pay rent, they lose their job, become homeless and now the government has no means of siphoning money from them. And once they're homeless they stay homeless forever because as soon as they get a little money the government just takes it away. It's that okay for the system to work that way?
and why are they struggling?
because they took out a giant loan for a degree that no employer gives a chit about.
they could of gone to community college instead of some more expensive school and ended up at the same job with very little debt.

I see all kinds of people come through at the places I've worked, even a guy once who had a degree from Harvard.
in music theory.
they hired him because he went to Harvard but they just put him in the cubes like everyone else because his degree was useless in the company.
meanwhile we had highschool graduates working the cubes just like him and going to college part time for degree's the company was looking for and getting their tuition reimbursed for A's and B's in classes.
it took more than a few yrs for them to finish but even halfway through they were passing mr. Harvard is pay and duties.

You. Had. OPTIONS. Other than a loan shark.. Didn't you.

And the loan shark probably promised you riches beyond your wildest dreams once you got your degree and joined the elite group of "educated professionals" too.. didn't he. Probably pay off your $100k loan in six months or some shiit you thought.. didn't you.

So you chose the loan shark option, didn't you.

Face it, you made a bad choice, and now that reality is sinking in you've got regrets. Don't you.
No, I understood you, but you seem to be ignoring all of the points I made in that first paragraph. Is none of that relevant?

Also, if you read the second paragraph you'd see that it wasn't a bad decision for me as i'm making more money than I ever would have with my degree than without one.

How is there a system in place in this country with no means of escape? There are many paths we can choose in life, and no matter how bad things get there is an proverbial "out" to restart our lives and try again, but not for student loan debt....and its all subsidized by the government, just like going into the military.

For the record, i'm doing fine on my student loan, i'm just about done paying mine off since i've been chipping away at it since it was placed on pause, but I know more than a handful IRL and have been reading lots stories of people that have not been as fortunate as I have. I graduated at just the right time, got into my field (which was pandemic/recession proof) to allow me to get promotions to make more money. I even got my apartment before the start of the pandemic so my rent (even for this nice area in UTC) is pretty damn cheap...but if there was one aspect in my life that was out of alignment I'd most likely be phucked, and instead of being able to take care of my parents with the money i'm making, I would have been a burden probably having to move back in with them with my tail between my legs.
Is the word "personal responsibility," just not in your vocabulary?

Its ingrained in us. We call it "Rugged Individualism"
You're telling me they couldn't find any kind of work during the pandemic? Or they just weren't motivated, because their loans were put on hold, and they were given "free" money?

They take lesser degrees because they either won't or can't make it in the higher degrees. Still, you would think someone who could make it with the rigors of Harvard would be worth their salt and could adapt but this isn't the same world. It used to be hard to get into school not just expensive, and once you did, it was even harder to graduate. I'm not sure what happened, but I think it started when they took in everyone and anyone willing to pay and they had to lower the bar so they could get through because it was good money. This is what we are left with.

There are a lot of skills that can't be taught in books or at school. A lot of these things play a larger role in making it in a career than a lot of people realize. One of these are social/people skills.

Bingo.

Parasites thought they reached heaven during COVID - sat on their lazy fat ass all day, binged Netflix, played video games, ate boxes of pizza and cookies, all paid by the government. Hallelujah! This is why so many of these clowns still clung on to their stupid masks years after it was over pretending to be too scared to come out to work lmao. MUH PaNdEMEiiK mUHH FHREEE!!!1!

Those deadbeat maggots thought they could just get away with not paying chit for the rest of their lives, sucking the blood off others like some tick.

Feel sorry for them? Yeah kiss my ass lol

So what's the problem then?
It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.

His problem is that he wants free chit and tries to ride the wave of this hot topic to achieve it. The guy has a brand new 85-inch OLED sitting in his cart waiting for a donation from taxpayers, and wants you to feel sorry for him and his deadbeat friends.

You realize I don't actually want landlords killed right? I happen to be one (but I am very generous on rent). I just want more taxes on the wealthy and more consideration of how we use resources given the future. You are wrong. The poor have value. That same logic would have led to your kid working 16 hr days and losing limbs, and you never being given any education. You are not a slave. Stop acting like one.

You understand you are the poor I am advocating to help right?

You noticed that too huh.

All these assed up libs queefing about their loans and how they should be forgiven.. "B-b-but it's not fair!"

While simultaneously bragging about how utterly awesome their lives and careers are because of said loans lol.

We could find common ground. I don't know about just increasing taxes. I think it would all have to be written differently. I'd like to see a lot of banking reform. Making it easier for anyone to buy and own land, and yes, those with the most capital would pay the most or at least equal percents to level the playing field.

I lost my first house to foreclosure. When I fell behind in my bills thanks to the recession caused by the banks, the bank would not accept partial payments. So even when month two hit, I had month one's payment and then some, but not all of both months so they wouldn't accept it. During this time, the insurance company that was paid through them dropped me for no reason and they didn't inform me, but instead put some 1000/mo homeowners policy on me. The day after it hit 90 days past due, they sold it on the courthouse steps. Somehow, they got the loan amount to pay the loan off to the penny. I left. They tried to say I owed them all this other money and I just ghosted them, but if I had responded to them, I would have owed a bunch of money not only to the bank but the one that bought the house who tried to charge me for all kinds of things.

I'd like to see interest rate reforms. A lot of practices that disgust me. Working at car dealers, I see what they do. I think people should be rewarded for good credit, as in they are approved for more, but what goes on now is they will finance anyone, with high down payments and interest rates that they know they can't afford but catch them in a desparate place, then sugar coat it into making them think they can do it. Then they sell them a junk used car that just looks good. Dude you probably think I'm ruthless as a tech but I've done a lot more for people than I could have especially on these used cars that come back with issues. One older lady, they sold her a car and the engine went out two months later. It still had the factory warranty but the engine was sludged up because the first owner didn't change the oil and there were no records so they declined it. She was such a sweet lady she just cried. Fuk that, got with the SM and made them pay for an engine and kept her in a rental until it was done. Not charity, we billed sales and just told them they better pay it or we won't do chit or them anymore. I mean, we billed them at cost, but the point was doing the right thing. Lucky the owner of the company got involved and agreed with us. Just another day in dealer politics honestly.

I mean this is the richest country on the planet. They have money for Zelensky and the banks, but nothing for the common ordinary American. People had to beg and plead just for healthcare. It's a travesty. And the banking sector is rigged to make banks money. Our regulators come from a revolving door of bankers. It's just gross and stupid.

For a country as rich as ours, there is zero excuse for not educating/giving job training and providing healthcare to every citizen.

Keep in mind those landlords were much different from US landlords. They were essentially slavers. The entire population was basically subservient to an aristocracy of nobles.

Thomas Jefferson would have been right there with Mao bro.

PS Kulaks deserved it.

Now we hate banks.......

And there are tons of people who get a high school diploma, in fact, everyone pretty much gets one, doesn't mean they really deserve it, especially when so many of these dumb ****s can't even read.

Then we have people like you claiming these same dumb ****s, should be able to go to college......

I'm talking about merit based quality education and/or job training, not our joke of a system.

Lmfao @ thinking our entire banking system isn't rigged to make banks richer.

There's bank offering 5-6% interest rates nowadays. You can literally put in a hundred grand, and a year later you'll get 5-6 grand from that investment.

That's pretty easy when we have 5% inflation lmao

And that wasn't what we were talking about. We were talking about predatory lending and the revolving door that lets bankers get bailed out on the taxpayer dime and rewards their irresponsibility

The delusion is getting grander by the day. You really should check into a mental health clinic.

A deadbeat loser who sits at his computer all day in daddies basement, dreaming about going outside and punching (fictional) nazis, is somehow a landlord lol. Just stfu you oxygen thief.

Delusion is a hell of a drug. You can be anything. A land lord, a nazi puncher, not a completely worthless sack of **** sitting in daddies basement playing fantasy all your waking hours etc.

His larp is that his dad owns property (could be true) and that he manages them (extremely unlikely) which he thinks makes him a landlord (delusional)

He was a scientist a couple of years ago when covid kicked off.

"We in the scientific community"

"As a scientist, I think..."

"My fellow scientists...."

Isn't that right wincel. Still willing to give your life for your "fellow scientist" Fauci?
It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.

You know its bad policy, but you advocate for it because its a way to gain power?

You are also trying to spin things by saying that they are making discrimination legal, when the exact opposite has just happened and the courts are trying to enforce a meritocracy through equality. Why would anyone have an issue with this? Why do you feel the urge to spin it this way? Why so disingenuous?

Man you are a nasty piece of work bro. Would literally sell your soul and self respect if it gets you what you want.
My god shut up, you embarrassing retard.
