It's just the natural progression. I couldn't imagine going hard like in my 20s all my life when I swore I'd never settle down. Now I legit can't wait until fall so I can get up early and take a tour of a cider mill and taste test ciders/hard ciders with the family while looking at the foliage (no homo).

I mean I definitely still want to plow every 10/10 I see...That hasn't changed.

I think avoiding loneliness is a poor justification for having a family and kiddos though.

But what's worse than dying alone, knowing you'll die alone vs having kids and they never bother to spend time with you especially in your dying years.

I plan to settle down, but IDK people think having kids is going to make you less lonely, or have the expectation that they will be taking care of you. It's not usually the case.

It's not a guarantee by any means, but if you have a good relationship, I think it's fairly common. My last grandparent turns 99 next month and moved into assisted living a couple years ago. My mom goes and sees him 3 to 4 times a week and my parents take him out on little outings when he's up to it. I go see him once every couple weeks, probably not as often as I should, but I have a lot more time constraints. I remember my dad taking care of his mother the last few years of her life. I live next door to my parents and expect to do the same for them. So, I guess I'm not disagreeing with you that it often doesn't work out, but at the same time I've seen a lot of cases where it has. For me I'd say I've just decided to have a family, treat them good and let the chips fall where they may. Nothing's guaranteed, but I still think having a family maximizes my shot at happiness.

you die alone anyway, even if you have a wife and 10 children. Having children for that reason is selfish and it will probably not bring you happiness either way.

Unless you were raised in their house, "good family" is you on the outside looking in. You don't know what goes on behind closed doors.

You’re right I don’t know what went on but I highly doubt they really went through anything traumatic or abusive I think they just wanna be victims and fwiiw I came from an actual abusive household so I think it could spot it but maybe not.

I think I'll take the marriage pill, but 50% of the time they don't work out. I'd like to see some demographics or studies on people that get married later in life. I don't know how bad marriage rates are for educated people in their 30s. But it's such a risk getting married, losing half your $hit, lose the kids, lose the house, then die alone anyway. It's a new chapter in life though. I'd hate be like these single 30-40 year olds I see living that degenerate life of partying, chasing tail, and drug abuse. They were abundant everywhere in California when I recently visited. Kinda sad. They look pretty unhappy, just in a different way than men in bad marriages. At least you have a better chance at happiness spending time with your kids and showing them the ropes.

Lots of people say this when they're young and a lot change their minds later. I've known several older people that preferred assisted living to living with one of their children, because they don't want to burden to anyone. I hope to avoid them myself, but they make sense in some cases.

As for kids resenting parents, every kid is an individual. I've seen two kids from the same family where one turns out great and the other struggles and hates the parents. It's not common with good parents, but it happens.

That doesn't surprise me at all.

I've wondered how my grandpa is treated. I'm in there frequently and I've never seen any of the staff be rude or unkind to any of the residents. He lived on his own until he was around 97 then he just got to the point where he couldn't take care of himself. We moved him to assisted living and it seems to have been good for him. His short-term memory is no good, but he still has the same personality from when he was younger. He's still a very social person and he sees more people now. They also go on excursions to activities around the area. My other grandpa died in his easy chair after checking the cows and having a little breakfast one morning. That's what I'm hoping for, unfortunately we don't always get what we want in that regard.

Exactement. All the happiest people I know got married young, especially to their high school sweethearts. I regret letting mine slip away. Now I’m a few years from 30 with no kids to show for.

Married with 3 kids. Don’t get married unless you want children. Marriage is hard and requires a lot of compromise.

They lose all their social skills, fewer friends, less interactions that don't involve the family lol.

Absolutely. If you aren't at least a little religious and aren't bagging a religious/conservative girl with family values. Don't even waste your time. Found a girl that likes cooking, cleaning, raising kids, etc. Doesn't have an IG. Doesn't post thotty pics on ********. Doesn't drink. Doesn't go 'out with the girls'. Etc. Would be hard to be with a girl without those standards.

As a parent its up to you to raise, mold and indoctrinate your kids as you see fit. If you ship them off to some liberal school where extremely liberal teachers/professors actively work to turn them against your values for 10+ years that's kind of the result you end up with. **** kids that hate their parents.

You're right but at the same time. If you stay single you have to be OK with being alone the majority of the time. Or spend time in very superficial relationships.

I stayed single until my early 30s. Basically most of your male friends that have their **** together get married/have kids and don't have the time/money/freedom to do stuff with you. Or the ones that don't are kind of losers and simply can't keep up.

As a relatively successful single guy. If I want to travel (in country or out) and do cool **** like parasailing, scuba diving, motorcycle riding mountains/canyons/coastlines, going on a week long hunt in the mountains, going deep sea fishing. Etc. All of my married friends that would like to do it and/or can afford to do it. Most likely won't be able to make the time/leave their family to do that stuff often. The single friends typically don't have the funds to do that stuff.

Also as an unmarried brah. A lot of your friends start doing stuff with couples and other families. (Even vacationing). Which means if your a single dude that only smashes thots or dates bimbo's. The wives aren't going to be very happy about you tagging alone and bringing low quality girls. Or if you go solo. You're just hanging out with other families/kids.

There are pros and cons to both life-styles. But assuming you are single and actually have your **** together in your 30s onward. Its actually hard to find friends worth spending time with.
