I'm way past due for a full sober month. I haven't done one in too long. The only minor issue is after a few days in a row of no alcohol I get strong sugar cravings for several days.
I can drink a pint of any liquor or two bottles of red wine by myself and only feel tired, no hangover. That's not a good thing.

It is the truth. As I've gotten older, I've noticed that when I do get that urge to drink and have a few evenings of getting a nice buzz, it feels like it takes several days to a week of not drinking for my body to even start producing dopamine on its own again. It's likely partially because of the kindling effect at play from many years of abusing drugs/alcohol to where it takes much less for my mind/body to start feeling all the negative effects.
Any short term benefits are quickly offset by the psychological torment that follows, so the reward is no longer worth it. Once you cross that bridge there is no going back.

Accomplishing goals brings out the best in me.
Cutting out drinking can be a goal in itself, but it also helps with the "getting lean" goal simultaneously. Doing one is like a magnitude multiplier for the other. Saves some $$$ too, and enables you to eat a bit more since Calories from alcohol/carbs are such a waste.
IDK if I'll ever fully quit, but weed indulgence as a replacement is something that could enable me to realistically do so. But unlike weed, alcohol is always something to help take the edge off and loosen up when socializing. This is the main pro alcohol has.

Yeah man when I go extended times without drinking
My sleep is GOAT
I feel amazing
Bodyfat drops
The sky looks more blue
Mentally sharp af concentration through the roof
Excel at whatever I do etc
It seems almost impossible though unless you stop being social

Alcohol was a crutch for me to be social
Dropping needing it to be a part of the party is like shedding autism srs
And the big point of how amazing you feel all the time vs feeling good while drinking then acting like a tough guy who doesn’t feel how fuked up his stomach is the rest of the time is what should drive home the point.
But just keep alcohol in your back pocket as a trump card for when you really want to show life you still don’t give a fuk.

What I do now is pregame with phenibut when I’m going to go out. That way I show up buzzed af without having spent money or poisoned myself. I can sip one or two drinks over the night and stay feeling great, or have four and get fukked up, with far less net poison consumption

While it still makes me feel good and gets me loose, it definitely can’t regain that magic of the first time I ever used it. That was insane bro. I felt the most insane euphoria ever for hours and was just having the best night. Almost feels like the first time ever getting drunk
