rofl, you can't compare the difference in gameplay between a controller (which severely limits you) and keyboard and mouse.

PC gamers should be recognized as superior gamers

Joe Rogan says it best, when you play with mouse and keyboard, its literally an extension of your mind.
You are your thoughts. Life is perception, thoughts are perception, perception is reality ergo thoughts are reality, I think therefore I am.

Nothing is changing. 95% of the time devs build and optimize the game around console since that's the main target. PC gets the poverty port and they let PC brute force it which is quite inefficient.

Lmao strong pulling a stat out your ass. Meanwhile PCcels have been crying all year about their trashy, unoptimized ports that run like crap and contain huge bugs, stuttering, shader issues and so on. You guys are treated like the step kid who is given the hand-me-downs that were tailored with love for the golden child while you're expected to use your retard strength to make it work.

PC Master race btw:
You're taking my post way too seriously and you're just nitpicking on certain words. I wouldn't even classify as a true gamer if you wanted to take that definition super serious. You could also not take it super serious and read it more like "If you enjoy playing either on console or pc there's no reason to dismiss the other one".

Like you with incredibly stupid and insane takes that 95% of pc games are console ports. Of my entire steam library not a single game came out on console and most have never even been ported to one.

pc is more for hardcore/enthusiast
look at the top games on consoles(ps and box) its the same casual stuff every year, madden, fifa call of duty battlefield etc
pc is just superior set up for fps, mmo, moba etc
free online, bigger library
some people eat beef but some eat mcdonalds hamburgers(playstation and xboxers) and some people eat prime rib(pc/chads/switchers)

Nobody cares about your personal library.

Since the PS5 has come out, can you name which major published game was developed for PC first then ported to console? I'll throw you a bone and say Baldur's Gate 3 is one. Give me some others, I'll wait.

Bruh the entire library of the ps5 consists of 500 something games. There's probably over 500 PC games released daily, it's not even a number worth googling. It's a no contest, there's not even a discussion. The whole port thing doesn't even matter as long as the game is playable and not released significantly later.

If you wanna argue why you prefer playing on a console comparing the console libraries with the PC library is literally the dumbest thing you could've done.

PC gamers aren't reliant on being force fed 70 dollar aaa games like consoles are. We can still play our entire library of games, new and old. Yes there are bad ports but pc gamers really are a more sophisticated user base in a sense that the pc community doesn't buy dogchit releases and we have a refund option. Bad games get shunned, unlike on console where people just buy them anyways because it's what's new and they are just generally a less informed consumer base. Pc gamers speak with their wallets exponentially more than console gamers. Steam reviews are considered one of the last bastions of proper game reviews for a reason.

Steam top concurrent chart right now, hardly any aaa big publisher games on there. None of these "broken console ports" on the list.

Nah it never beent for nerds. Just because your an end user of a product doesn't make you a nerd. For example, you wouldn't call someone who can build their own car using premade parts a nerd.

PC gamers just flock to good fun games. Doesn't matter if it's new or old. Fun is fun.

Team fortress 2 came out in 2007 and just got a huge update. Imagine if Sony or naughty dog was still supporting tlou factions with updates that were drawing 100k players back to the game 15 years later

Bro those are all old asf online games, and the topic in discussion is modern single player games. I'm totally with you in PC having the largest library, ability to play old games, indie titles etc. That's great, but we're talking about the top modern single player titles. Hogwarts Legacy, Elden Ring, The Last of Us, RE4 Remake, Dead Space etc etc all place priority on console.

The only relevant example in that screenshot is Baldur's Gate 3.

In which way? Hogwarts Legacy and Elden Ring were both released on PC on the same date as it was released on the playstation and they were successful releases. Haven't heard of those other games and too lazy to look up all of them.

I don't even understand the argument you're trying to make. Obviously a high end pc will run the game better than a console as well. So what "console priority" do you actually benefit from as a consumer?

I'm not comparing number of titles, I've always stated PC has the largest library. I'm talking about modern releases that push the envelope when it comes to graphics and performance....AA and AAA titles, the single player releases we all care about and get hyped for. Console has been getting top priority and I've seen PC gamers on forums complain so much about their unoptimized, buggy ports recently.

OK but that's just what YOU clearly like and not the majority of pc gamers. i didn't cherry pick these results, this is what's being played. Clearly the most popular games on pc are multiplayer games and pc absolutely dominates that category, not even close.

You only want to talk about single player aaa games because it's all Sony does and you can have an argument. If you broaden the discussion to all games you don't have a leg to stand on. There isn't a single one of sony's games on any of steams top charts, those types of single player games come and go so fast on pc, they do not stand the test of time.

There isn't even a Sony game in the top 100 concurrent play list. Aaa single player releases are simply flavor of the week for most pc gamers.

Holy reading comprehension batman. How does releasing on the same date change my point that these games were designed with console first in mind? You can and should check it up, don't take my word for it. Console version gets first priority on these releases.

Less than 1% of PC gamers have the high end PC you're referring to. The beauty of being on console is we usually get games that are optimized for us, and therefore run with far less issues, aka we don't get chit like this

Most games run just fine on most PCs.

If somehow you're unlucky enough that the specific titles you love to play have some bugs in it that are major enough to ruin your gaming experience then just stick to your console. Problem solved. I'm running a humble gaming laptop with a 3050 Ti and I haven't had a single bug bothering me in well over a few dozen different titles, so I'm good.

Except you didn't spend thousands to build a PC that can max out ancient titles like Rust and CSGO that can run on a modern toaster.

The point in me bringing up modern games is because those those are the graphically intensive games that get people hyped. Those are the ones that entice people to buy modern hardware. And when it comes to those releases, devs generally kiss console ass first. We get first preference, that's all I'm saying. It can't make it any simpler.

With regards to your other question, all modern games have bugs but they seem to be more polished generally on consoles

That was always something factual. There's a very small percentage of games that first release on console and are optimized for it, then later get ported to PC. The amount of ports that are actually buggy or just complete chit is an even smaller amount of the total. Most of those buggy ports do get fixed though within a few months.

The only confusion comes from the fact that you're pretending that small percentages of games is a vast majority and that those are the only games that matter. That's just very dishonest and confusing.

So you haven't bought any games since 2012? If that's true then kudos but most people upgrade their PC to be able to play the newest games with the best visuals they can afford.

Then it should be super easy to prove me wrong by naming all the games that focused on PC first, then ported over to PS5 after. I already gave you one with Baldur's Gate 3.

What? Of course I buy and play newer games, but my pc is built solely to play fps games with everything else as an afterthought. I could have triple 4k oled monitors but I prefer a simple 27" 240hz because 90 percent of my time is spent playing apex legends or other fps games.

Fps gaming on console is dead, every major fps is multi-plat or pc exclusive. between twitch and all pro play and streamers playing on pc, there's a metric fuk ton of people who built or bought pcs to play fps games without giving a fuk about whatever new single player aaa game is coming out.

You're just missing the point, the number of games with game breaking bugs is small as hell, and you act like it's a common thing when it's simply not. The games that do get fixed or they get refunded and left in steam review hell where the belong anyways... Unlike on console where it's still a front page advertisement with no user reviews to check before buying.

Yeah the point goes completely over his head or he just wants to be stubborn. Most developers who want to bring a release to both console(s) and PC will just develop the game with that in mind. So in the end most of it will work fine on both, with PC having the higher upper limit and more ability to customize. And again, most games will never make it to consoles anyway.

Most people I know who prefer consoles are either social gamers or dudes who just like the plug and play experience and having a control in their hands while chilling on the couch. Nothing wrong with that, of course. Never met anybody irl with the coal man attitude who is jumping through all kinds of hoops and makes stuff up to try and argue that consoles are somehow objectively superior.

You could have designed a PC to play CSGO at the best graphical settings and frame rates you could possibly need a decade ago. The reason you keep upgrading is so you can continue to play MODERN, MORE GRAPHICAL games at their highest settings.

The words I highlighted above are exactly what I wanted to hone in on. The conversation isn't about Quake 2 remastered, final fantasy 8, and other old games. It's about me saying that when it comes to the new shiny games that push the industry forward, developers seem more and more to focus on console first, because that's where the larger concentration of people who consume these new games come from.

I'm not saying PS5 is more powerful, I'm not saying it has more games, I'm not even claiming it has better games. I'm just saying that optimization for most newer games seems to indicate that they are built for modern consoles first, due to a variety of reasons and then PC gets considered after.

That may be true for you and the games you like playing, but not for me. Pretty much zero shooters are made for console first.

AAA new releases are usually an afterthought for me. There are many people just like me who play a specific genre first, be it fps, rts, moba, whatever... Then just play the new releases on the side whenever we aren't grinding our main games.

The number one game I play, apex legends, hasn't even had a proper next Gen update for consoles yet and still only runs at 60fps. Not everything out there is made with consoles in mind.
