How close are you to self-actualization? Maslow's hierarchy of needs analysis
Where would you personally place yourself on this hierarchy? If the overarching goal is to reach self-actualization in life, how far away are you from this and what might be some hurdles getting in the way that you can address to reach this state?
I personally think bodybuilding fits into the self-esteem category, which is why I firmly believe in the profound importance of meeting personal physical exercise goals. Think about how different the human race would be if everyone took bodybuilding seriously.

Best of luck to everyone here and their own personal goals.

Somewhere between the orange and yellow part. The security thing is kind of shaken these days, but I know that’s not unique to me. What I’ve noted is that the more you have of the yellow part, the more concerned you get about the orange part.

I feel the only reason I fail to meet that aspect of “needs” is not due to my life situation or circumstances, but my own cognitive/emotional resistance.
I understand purpose is not inherent to existence and that can be pretty painful if I allow my ego to focus on it.
If I could just turn my brain off, I would be fulfilled completely.

It's very hard to define what that actually means, would you liken it to achieving nirvana for example? In which case it's almost unachievable for the vast majority. I'd say I'm closer than ever after a career change to pursue something I really want to do, and after having a child, but unless you can free yourself from want it's ultimately going to remain just beyond reach since people always want more. This probably applies even more to high achievers and the ambitious despite them often more than meeting the self-esteem criteria.

Right now, I'm fighting through the green section trying to reach that purple. I had a 5 year purple patch in my early 30s and I was very happy, I had a lot of fun and I loved my life.
Then the classic story, meet a sloot, things going well think there's potential, be really careful because I have an awesome life I def don't want to wreck, she gets preggo by accident
and I'm in a new phase: Procreation, it goes beyond self but ultimately we all die and that self rots.
Life is back to struggling in the green to reach the purple but also to try create the world in which my daughter can too. Mrs isnt the worst, she's a great mother, pretty hot, not an idiot, awesome to have sex with but she's a drain. We all know what women are like.
But like I said, I'm gonna die one day, seems to make sense to put my energy to something bigger than me. Perhaps that is self actualisation for me idk. I've been very lucky to have spent my entire life in at least the green zone and my parents did that so I want to pass it forward which I am doing. I'm not as happy and my life isn't as fun but I am more fulfilled, call it a cope you might be right but whatever life is what it is. I do pretty good.

I try to incorporate all 5 aspects in my life. Sometimes it's hard to incorporate all of them, but the times you can is when life is at its peak. It's like playing tug of war with life to have all aspects. To be honest if it wasn't for the Army and the leadership mentorship I received, I probably would have never gotten past 3. I self actualized deez nuts earlier this morning.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Morality and inner potential are probably the ones I struggle with the most. I see myself as a generally good person, but at the same time I'm not nearly as good as I could be. Still a lot of unrealized potential. I wish I spent more time focusing on the things I actually care about the most. Lol, and here I am posting on the misc. There's actually a lot of good here, that can make a person think, but it can be a huge time sink as well.

A mix of the top three... Probably very clsoe to achieving the top... although not quite there.

Self-Esteem
For sure.
Example: The stage "love and belonging" talks about "intimacy" which translates to GF/wife/srs relationship. However, even if you don't have a meaningful relatioship but you find yourself more concerned with things like "achievements, respect of others, career, ..." then, at least for your brain, you are at the "self-esteem" stage.
If you have the "I don't want an average life" mentality, you are already on the "self esteem stage", at least. Now, if you have the "All I want is a GF" mentality, you are on the "love and belonging" stage.
For sure.

I feel like you can argue that a consistent and regular exercise regimen, like weight lifting, can also be considered self-actualization to some degree. As far as your question goes, I'd say I float in and out of self-actualization.

The "self-actualization" is more "physilophical". "What is fair?" "What do I value in life?" "What would I consider a succesfull life?" "What should I accept about myself and the world?",...
