Hollow knight is king.
Blasphemous is quite good.
However Death's Gambit is a true hidden gem- the game released with quite a few issues and questionable design choices, which was always shame since it had such beautiful art and some great voice acting. Shockingly they actually overhauled the whole game and expanded it a year after release making it a game thats very worth checking out.

Someday? Someday my dream will come? One night you will wake up and discover it never happened. It's all turned around on you. It never will. Suddenly you are old. Didn't happen, and it never will, because you were never going to do it anyway.

Potionomics was a lot of fun and great visuals.

Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.

Hotline Miami (switch): goat top down retro graphics which while pixelated pushes the gore and brutality . With a heavy soundtrack to match the overall over the top grimy feel and humor of it . I don’t recall wanting to experience the dialogue but just wanting to play the game because I was impatient and unappreciative at the time. But it was a trip and badass is what I got from it.
Rogue legacy (switch) - extremely fun and forward moving side scrolling gameplay with solid enough text dialogue. The family trio iirc Reminded me of the cast of golden axe but more cheeky humor and stabbing .
Hellblade: senuas sacrifice (switch) - only one whose voices soundtrack and images scared the hell out of me and I am a fearless man. If I had certain mental health issues I’d have had a seizure.
Cuphead (Xbox one): insanely Difficult run and gun with crazy hand drawn art style side scrolling action. The levels are very hard!
Celeste or Furi or bastion to round my top 5

Barotrauma. A 2D multiplayer submarine horror/survival-sim. You are a descendant of the stranded members of a human space mission sent to collect resources from the subterranean ocean of one of Jupiter's orbiting moons (Europa). With no way off the planet, you must survive in a barely habitable environment filled with horrific alien sealife.
Here's a nice teaser:

Just bout OuterWilds based on this thread. Can't wait to play it.
also, Guacamelee was HELLA FUN. Death's Door amazing, and Transistor was awesome. I'm becoming a big fan of indies, wish we had a thread for them.
anyone played Chained Echoes? not really a jrpg fan but the reviews are so good I"m thinking of getting it.

I’ve replayed both of them multiple times, after the first play through they become excellent podcast games.
Smooth Seas don't make Strong Sailors. Keep your head up.
