I do like the idea of minimalism and appreciating life over consumemaxxing / materialism.
But OP, aren't you kinda looking at the inflation and the economy, and thinking "oh chit, I will need to start working soon?" I know many people who delayed things such as: retirement, house purchase, weddings, etc. just because of how crazy it has been in the last few years, srs.
Fast food menu items are like $10+ after all.

Also, once you've eliminated the biggest expenses in life like a house/vehicle/debt and you don't easily fall for consumerism tricks/keeping up with the Joneses pressures -- inflation doesn't really hit as hard as it may for others.

You see my friend, not everything that is physically demanding is a chore and heavy burden. Some things can be physically demanding and enjoyable at the same time. You mentioned weight -- for people carrying extra weight I totally recommend push-mowing their lawn or the lawn of someone they know.
Yes, it only costs $75 to mow a lawn...maybe $150 to paint a bedroom, maybe $300 to detail a car -- but these are things I ENJOY doing for myself or my parents. You claim to enjoy whatever you do at work for 30+ hours a week so are you open to seeing how I can enjoy things others may consider work?
You sound very poor in thought. Sometimes class isn't something people can buy unfortunately.

You can pretend you're whatever class you like, but there's nothing more low class than having to beg for other people to pay for your daughter's clothing and school supplies.

I doubt that all the Misc members are some kind of outlier and that they overrepresent wealthy people as a group. I would wager to bet that the Misc number of high net worth posters approximately mirrors high net worth people in the US population. Which would put my net worth in the top 5% of the Misc.
Some people are just miserable because they haven't achieved what other people have achieved. If you got more than me, I ain't mad atcha boyo. That's great, I'm happy for you as long as you're doing what you want to do. Because I'm doing exactly what I want to do

The fact of the matter is that only people who are above average post in threads about finance. Same as manlet threads, you don't see short people making threats or boasting about their height.
You've said you have a networth of about $1.5 million. That's great for the general populace, but when everyone ITT is making $200k+, it's not really that impressive.
That other guy with the bike AVI is a poverton, but no one is giving him a hard time because he's not trying to make it seem like being poor is the bees knees and that he's better than anyone because he's on welfare. And that is why eddie is getting spit roasted.

If you were truly happy you wouldn't spend the bulk of your free time on a ghey indian bodybuilding forum trying to argue that people who feel successful, happy and content shouldn't actually feel successful, happy and content.
You are one of the poorest people on the misc.

So I'm roasting while celebrating my nephew's 4th birthday, or while at an all inclusive with 25 close family members and friends, or at a family get together, or while out with my coworkers.
You're poor financially, but also in terms of family. My wife doesn't have to work if she doesn't want to, and the same applies to me. Your wife has no choice but to work. We can go wherever we want whenever we want, and we do. You go on midnight walks by yourself. Lol.

OP he's right. Yea you're owning your own time at the expense of not being able to actually use it freely. I'm not even rich or a high earner and yet I could basically do most things on a whim with almost no thought about it financially. You can't OP. There's a saying that comes to mind that kind of goes like "Poor people have all the time in the world but no money, people with money have no time to spare."
Time means nothing when you don't have actual purpose. Imagine being a productive citizen in society and not just a consumer. You're letting your laziness and cowardness guide your life to cope with being poor and lazy.

Unless you're self employed, but then again you still have to do the required work or you wouldn't have an income. Would that be an accurate assessment?
I can only speak for myself, but I own businesses, have rental properties, and also have a high paying job. I could quit working, be retired, and still being in $60k-$70k a year without doing much. I choose to work because I don't do all that much, have complete autonomy, and it affords me all the nice shyt I want. I choose to do that with my time. He can choose to not work. But him coming here and "bragging" about slumming it on $12k a year and trying to troll people with productive lives is just a joke.
An aside, my wife just quit her job a few months ago. Nothing in our lives has changed. No one bats an eye. But a man mooching off a woman is an embarrassment.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.
