Yeah I had 175k in mind when I made up this example. Interest income is taxed as ordinary income so my 300k gross works to about 175k net in my example.

You're entitled to the vision of life you see fit, but I think it's possible that after a year or 5 years of living like this -- it may just become normal life to you. Way before that you may actually start wanting to go to more remote areas that are less consumed by consumerism/materialism/tourist....and staying longer to really get immersed.

I mean for how long can you really get excited/enlightened about spending another week in Tokyo, NYC and so on and so forth. I bet after a year or two most people would be done with it.

Maybe but the idea is that I would have that option. Without money you have very little options with how you can spend ur time.

Right now I can’t just pack up and fly to Miami for a few days and that pisses me off.

If only there was a way for me to trade my time as a good for an equal valued item that could be stored and accumulated, allowing me to expend hundreds of thousands of seconds at one time to receive an otherwise unreachable goal.

The truth does hurt. There's a very special sort of bitter person who assumes that anyone who "works" must hate their lives or be "encumbered".

My money is on an abused child / childhood divorce / trauma, because these persons (without therapy) grow up exactly like OP did - unable to interact with the world and, in general, 'hating people', so they stick to a digital existence where they feel they can hit back at those who abused them. From a 'safe' distance.

This is why my threads trigger folks like him so badly, just as they do SS and others who froth at the mouth seeing exemplary success staring them in the face.

Honestly embarrassing if you’re really a grown man living in a trailer, eating at McDonalds, unable to provide for your daughter

You can’t keep up the denial forever. Eventually your wife is going to leave, and your daughter is going to resent you, and you’re going to unequivocally realize you’re a bum. It’s better to have that realization now when you can still change your course than later when it’s too late

The hard part is that you need a middle class, which means the top 1% can't hoard 60% of a country's wealth.
